Anyone use dehumidifier water in a humidifier?

So i have an LG dehumidifier in flower room. And I usually empty it every day or every other day. A question I've tried searching for to no avail. Using a small Honeywell Germ Free Cool Mist HCM-350 humidifier in a different room for veggie tales.

Question: Do you think the slight metals caused from the water condensating in the dehumidifier would be better for the humidifier in the long run than say 200 ppm tap water?

Not sure if this is in the right thread category, but anyone is welcome to voice their opinion.

Thanks I kinda feel OCD even asking it lol. Obviously won't use the dehum. water on the plants, but recycling it into another room sounds a little more efficient.

Much better to use that water from dehu in the humidifier, rather than the 200ppm tap water in the humidifier. If you use the tap water, you'll eventually end up with a white powder/coating on everything in the grow room;-)

Eww. This one is "supposed" to not "jizz" like that. I don't really believe the manufacturer when they say this though lol.

I too run an LG dehumidifier & have the drip tube going directly into my rez , i tested the water when the unit was new & had a ppm of 17 , when i tested it a few months later it was the same however i found a problem i didnt like .

The LG's drip condensate into a little drip pan then funnels the water into the built in bucket or out the back via hose as i have mine set up , upon inspection i saw mold in my drip pan .

Ever since seeing that mold in the drip pan i take the front panel off once a month & disInfect everything with bleach water .

Not sure but i would think the water would contain mold spores & sending it unpurified into the veg room air could possibly create a mold issue .

It hasnt made my rez scummy but i use H2O2 in the rez , just something to think about .

I run my de-humi directly into a condensate pump that pumps into my rez. Straight hose no catch basin. I clean the condensate's 1.4 gal tank out every 2 weeks with a mild bleach solution. I've seen little to no algae or mold to alarm me. I also change my rez every 7 to11 days depending on how lazy I'm feeling. I get way more crud from the plant runoff and nutes in the rez (still nothing serious). But they haven't changed since I began using the condensate pump. Love this time saver. I'll check the PPM in the catch basin. But I'll bet its low.

I see we have someone as paranoid about the X - Files (Molder) as I am. I see that crap in my LG from time to time also. Shit is nasty looking lol. As long as your humidity is low, I'm hoping the spores would be so miniscule, they wouldn't have a chance to do much once it starts getting that nice oxygen and h202 and movement.

Simple answer: will work dont' use that water to water your plants - use de natured water ( tap water that you let stand for 24 hrs)

I use 6 stage RO filtered (4-10ppm) for my rez so the water from my de-hui (1-2 gal a day) doesn't seem to change my water chemistry any. However I will check the run-off de-hui water on its own to see what its made of. Guess you don't know until you try.
