Ok so after failing miserable trying to get germed seeds to sprout using oasis, only watered when close to dry. I had planted a single germed seed in ~4 gallon pot. It was on its 2-3 day out on the surface. It was about 3 inches or so tall, maybe a little less, and looked real healthy.... so anyways had a girlfriend of mine come over, and I opened the closet door to get a little fresh air in their with the seedling. Well an hour or so later, when she left I went up to water them, and it was gone... not in the pot, period.... well noone had come and gone, and the only other living being in the house were my two cats. So I am assuming they devoured it.. anyone elses cats ever eat their plants?? funny thing is I dont see ANY evidence what-so-ever it was my cats, no dirt on their paws.. no dirt on the ground near the pot.. nothing... like it just vanished... kinda sucks.. anyhow my oasis didnt work so ill be getting some rockwool 1.5x1.5 starter cubes to test out on some bag seeds, need to get the hang of this before I start ordering some good seeds.

Cats like seedlings. Those little plants swaying in the breeze like a drunken mouse doing a hula dance is just to much to resist. Someone should have warned you. Dogs will have a taste as well.

Sorry.

yea lol, now I guess I know better..... and the oasis seedlings were just pathetic... you could prolly grow better plants w/o even trying by just throwing some seeds randomly outside... its ok I am reading as much as possible and gathering supplies for when I get better at this. not as simple as 1-2-3. with a little patience and practice ill get it. how tall do seedlings get before they start growing branches and lose their little round leaves??

Depends on light. With proper lighting maybe an inch or two. With bad lighting they will shoot right up to the ceiling.

lol... I had a couple of seedling plants a few years ago that I put outside for a little sunlight. Came back to get them less than 2 hours later and they had been chewed to bits and pieces... I can attest to the fact that squirrels love the baby marijuana seedlings but not sure about cats.

yeah I am using x3 40watt Soft White CFL's producing 2600 Lumens each. About a couple inches away from the top of the seedling. That should be around 7800 lumens, not so bad right?(24/7) Was planning on vegging with this, then grabbing a 400w HPS for flowering.

excellent mr smithers.... well cant wait for my mylar, groban, nutes, ph test strips to arrive... whats a good way to hang/mount my CFL's?? right now its kind of dangerous and I dont like it one bit.. I have an extension cord with a power bar plugged into it. In the power bar, I have the 3 screw in lamp sockets, where the CFL's are screwed in.. then I have the extension cord rapped around a pole up top and counterbalanced by winding the other end of the cord around the power bar... really ghetto set up.. not much of a ghetto guy and not cheap either.. what can I buy to house the CFL's better or mount them sideways and shoot the light down since more light comes off the sides of the bulb than if it were hung upside down..... make sense??
