Anything wrong with my germination method?

I had some bad results germinating some maui waui seeds I got. I'm guessing it was just poor germinating conditions and overhandling. I tried 3 blackjack seeds and 3 maui waui's and only got 2 blackjack seedlings. I want a couple more seedlings, so I'm trying another seed of each, this time trying to let it ride without constantly checking them.

I soaked the seeds in water that was a little hot when I put them and let them sit for over 10 hours. I filled a plastic container half an inch deep with hot water and put two peet pellet things into it. They soaked up the water and were sitting in a little pool of water. I grabbed the seeds with some tweezers and put them in the little holes in the peet pellets and pushed a little of the stuff on top.

I now have the plastic container with the pellets on a metal tray with two inandecsent bulbs underneath it to warm it up a little. So the water stays warm and the pellet constantly soaks it up as it evaporates out the top.

It's only been 24 hours since I put the seeds in the pellets, so I haven't seen anything sprout yet, but I'm just curious if this is a good way to germinate seeds?

i take a tupperware container, and a paper towel. soak the paper towel with water, and fold the seed into it. then place it in the tupperware..works everytime for me, and ive germed seeds that were years old. ive never tried your method, but i dont think light is a good thing.. i usually place the container in a dark cabinet.

Oh the light is underneath the tray so it's not actually shining on the pellets. They do get sunlight since it's sitting near the window (where I plan to veg the plants until my closet is free) but I don't think it will really hurt the seeds since they are covered with peet.

don't want the pellets sitting in a bunch of water , take a small knife tip and gently stir up the opening of the pete pellet then make a small opening to plant the seed
