Ok, here are the specs:
This will be an apartment grow on the 1st floor.
The closet is 3'3" x 3'3", just about 11 sq ft.
The height is 8.5 ft but the closet has a shelf around 6.5 ft high and I think I will lay down a piece of ply wood on the shevling and separate the 2 areas.

Now heres what I have:
600 watt hps/mh air coolable light
6" 435 cfm vortex fan
Carbon filter

The left wall inside the closet is between the bedroom that the closet is in and the front hallway of the apt. so it creates a huge space, maybe 5x5 ft of room between the walls of just empty space between the walls that I was thinking of exhausting into with the carbon filter. Does any1 think this is NOT a good idea bc this is an apt grow and the smell could creep up into the floor above me? Or would I be safe exhausting into that space since it is fairly big and the air is being exhausted through a carbon filter in the wall?

Im not quite sure how apartment buildings are constructed and if this would be a good idea or just plain risky.

I will be growing Northern Lights FEM from seed in DWC buckets. Going to try and squeeze 9 plants in there.

Any ideas on how I should set up the system and run the exhaust/lights/ventilation?

Here is a shot of my set-up man. Only thing I can say is... as long as you can keep the smell down which shouldn't be a problem with only a couple plants and that's pretty much the only problem you would run into. Try and be stealth about bringing in soil, lights, and all that good stuff. I grow in a duplex but my neighbors are goons so...yaaaa anyways check out my closet...

How many watts is the light cause I run a 400 and it gets pretty warm if you don't control it properly.

P.S. please mind the ghettoness of my ventilation :-? i'll get to it...lol smoke on man :joint:

I exghaust threw a carbon filter and into my living room. U can't smell shit! So as long as ur fan specs(cfm) matches ur filters specs, u should have npz with smell unless the carbon has been worn but if u jus bought it then u will be good to go

the only issue i can see with you exhausting into the empty space is, where do you expect the air you're moving to eventually end up... also if you plan on living there for quite some time the humidity you are pumping in there is not going to escape and could end up creating black mold i believe... also, i would cover the slats from the inside to light proof them... if you sit inside there with the hallway light on you will probably see light getting in... i think 9 plants might be a little much for the space, although i'm a novice when it comes to space requirements for plants... good luck though, and just make sure youre extra careful...
