This is my 4th grow. I'm trying to get a pound out of four plants using:

Urban Poison (2x) + Green Poison (1x) + Sweet Cheese (1x)
3 gallon pots (4x)
600 watt MH&HPS (1x)

Medium is Coco and perlite, with beneficial fungi added.

Got lots of questions and am gonna need all the help I can get

Depends on how big they are when you should flip em. If your looking for 4oz per plant It's definantly doable. It's a little less than .75grams/ watt. But in 3 gallon pots? It'll be tricky!

4oz per plant is indeed what I'm shooting for :weed:
Can that be reasonable expected yield in 3 gallon pots veged for 2 months??

Vegged for two months, 4oz is deff a feesable goal to meet as long as the proper conditions are met, but I don't think it'll happen in 3 gallon pots.

Your girls can only grow so big in that container before roots bound together, and growth becomes stunted. The size of your root mass determines the size of yourcrop, so if your roots don't have the room to grow large enough, your plants won't grow large enough to produce the yield you want .

I'm not saying it's not possible, but I think it'd be a lot more likely to happen in a bigger container. Or you could supplement cO2 to increase yield if your dead set against changing containers

You need to uppot for sure. 4 ounces out of a 3 gallon pot? And its not hydro/passive hydro? 2 month veg in 3 gallon pots + 2 months, at least, for flower? You are actually limiting the potential of the plants by keeping them in the 3 gallon.
Moral of the story: get BIGGER POTS

id get rid of anything not weed.. honestly. just wasting light on them. use CFLS to keep those alive or get rid lol. the more room the better those plants will do .

Did you pull that plant out just to take a picture of the roots and then put it back in the same 3 gallon pot? Don't do that, anyone can tell you it's gonna be root bound but you're only stressing that poor thing more, next time you pull em out like that put them in bigger pots

sweet cheese was low yielding for me. Grew nearly horizontal branches. OG-like golfball nuggets. good stuff.

Thanks for the advice guys. Unfortunately It looks like the 5 gal I want is out of my budget right now.
I think I'll switch to flowering schedule and nutes this week, and feed regularly, and hope for the best :eyesmoke:

It looks like some have had success with even Smaller pots!

I mean, you can grow and flower in 3 gallon pots, the question is are you gunna get the 4oz each your expecting? I don't think so. But I'm a pessimist so what do I know?? Haha.

I pulled 6 ounces out of one plant in 3 gallon pots of coco using hesi nutes. First grow. I know i could have done better.

Under a 600w hps by the way.

its possible to get the 1 lb but I think you might need to veg them out a big longer. veg them until they have main stems the diameter of a nickel and then flower them. They should finish with stems the size of quarters which is about a 4 ounce plant

5 gallon pots are not that high, like $2.50 at lowes. Highly recommend getting some. Clear out the other plants as the others said. I grow in an apartment as well. Definitely not easy or recommended. As for 4 ounces out of a 3 gallon pot, it can be done. Just not easy. A good heavy yielding strain helps. I grew some Bay 11, netted a bit over 4 in a 3 gallon, and a bit over 6 in a 5 gallon. Both in soil.

is that because its a quarter size? so like a nickel size might yield roughly a little less the 2 ounces? but a dime is smaller then a nickel. i confused. good info though.

I just feel like the base stem diameter is a better reference point to guess yield rather than number of tops or height.

I feel like to some degree the yield correlates with base stem girth.
