Apartment Growing

Hey everyone. I know theres alot of apartment growers out there so i know my questions must be similar to yours. I have been using a 400whps,a 16inch oscillating fan, a few air pumps(dwc system), and my 4inch inline fan its supposed to be 100w pulling air through my carbon filter. I also have some 3foot flourescent tube fixtures that i may be installing on the walls. Everything is in a 2x4x6 box i made. Now my question is how much wattage is too much to be using in a regular one bedroom apartment? And has anyone had any noise complaints??I will be posting pics of my setup on here in a little bit when i find my camera but feel free to post pics with explanations and suggestions. i wouldnt go more than 1000w. i have 2x400w lamps and all the accesseries and my bills are about 150 a month during flowering. during the winter (no ac).

no one ever gets caught because of electricity usage unless it's your landlord that gets the bill. even then, you're not using any more electricity than a small space heater.

if fan noise is an issue for your set up there are mufflers you can buy that cover the sound.

the only noise i have is in my bedroom. bubbles from the air pump, humming from the ballast, co2 regulator turning on and off, and a 475cfm fan. the fan makes the most noise. so i hooked up a speed control and its hooked to a carbon filter. i havent had much odor either with the carbon filter. and all my nieghbors are gang banger and if they knew i was growing they would surely be looking for some kind of free be. lol.

Id be more worried about the smell, than the electricity consumption :hump:

thanks for the help guys. Ya well my landlord smokes weed and its pretty much allowed in the apartment so smell isnt really a huge deal because we smoke it and i have a carbon filter its was just the noise issue but im going to look into that muffler.

just make sure to pay your bills on time. and if anyone knocks on your door and asks about your bill just say: i have an electric stove and just baked sever hundred cookies for my church. and in the winter say: its really cold so i run a couple electric heaters. dont forget i have 2 tvs and 2 computers and i run them all the time. but that most likely wouldnt happen. just be sure to have a carbon filter. and when you harvest havest near you filter. dont want the halls reakking so good...

yep smells gonna be your issue. ive heard that using one 1000w HPS per bedroom is a good guideline to follow.

I live in an apartment where i step out of my door, and theres a hallway with six or so other apartments, that kind of set up. i just got done harvesting, but about three weeks ago i was gettin a lot of odor complaints, and the maintenance man was even gonna come in and install a ventilation set up, but now i harvested and the smells chilled out.

I've heard theres a lot you can do for odor, febreeze worked well for me for short time use, as my hallways smelled fresh instead of like plants. Check out ONA gel, i've heard it can help reduce odors a lot. good luck man!

Your set up seems like its similar to mine and my concern would be the odor and noise too. Your mostly going to get caught if your stealing energy. I live in PG B.C Canada and the RCMP here have been making big bust last 2 months with the help of BC Hydro tipping them off. So dont steal power ppl!:joint:
