Apex buds bigger than your fist

Hey
how do you guys dry and cure large thick buds? My worry is it's on a thin stem so unsure if the stem test will be accurate and I would hate to jar it too early or late

I hear sugar is good for making buds taste better at the end of flowering.
But my question is how do you know when your really huge buds are ready for the jar during the drying. With them being so thick crispy outside doesn't mean much and mine are attached to small thin stems so I worry the stem (snap/bend) method won't be much help either.

Break one apart is it really a huge bud or is it a branch with a bunch of buds close together

Cheers man il do just that and give the biggest bits maybe a day or 2 longer than the rest before the jar and be more active in checking/burping the fat nug jar.
Thanks again to everyone for their knowledge, been on the site 3 days and loving the community on here :)

Cool I'll show a picture of what I mean it's the main top of the bottom left plant it's still got a good few weeks left but I'd love to keep the very top part whole not the whole cola.
Just hang dry like you normally do or if you want it to dry a little faster do a light wet trim. When the smaller buds are ready break those big ones apart an throw everything into a paper bag for a few days mixing the buds up every day I usually do that the more dry small buds suck moisture out of the bigger ones. Those look like some nice big buds but they aren't crazy big as long as you don't have any bud rot they should dry out fine

Bull dog clips on clothes hangers or string grab that stem nicely if u need to go longer on the larger pieces in the dry, cure is the same as the others.

Cheers Jungle it's my first grow its got about 2-3 weeks left to go, the Ak's head is starting to bend over, must be getting dense :hump: any advice on supporting it? Every time I try wrap some twisty tie around the thin stem I quickly stop because I think I'm gonna snap or bend the stem :-?
