word. vinegar is good for lowering PH but only add small amts at a time (teaspoons) b/c too much of it will kill your plants. Try to lower your soil PH using vinegar (6 - 6.5) over a few days instead of in one go. Yea, cinder vinegar (no "t") is fine.
