are cardboard grow boxes safe?

I googled cardboard grow boxes and read a grip of peeps that have made grow boxes outta cardboard and i am just wondering how safe it is? Like I have 2 pretty thick and sturdy boxes that are about 30 inches high and 2 feet across and I planned on stacking them. And then cutting down the side for a flap as a door so I can access it.

I just wanna know how safe it is. I only plan on growing 1 plant at a time. And I currently have four 27w daylight 5500K cfl bulbs. Thats enough wattage for one plant correct?

No it can burn
This and it would likely mold eventually.

As far as lighting, it will depend on how big you plan on growing the plants to. I'd say up to 14-18 inches you would be okay with those if they are kept in very close proximity.

If you use properly rated fixtures, mounted to reinforced bases and paint the inside of your box with a ton of white paint, raise the plants off the floor, use a drip tray and get a lot of airflow you should be fine.

It's all up to you. You might build a box that will burn your neighborhood down, you might build one that grows a half pound with CFLs. I have seen both types built.
