yap, i have some nutes already for my soil grow, can i use them for a nute solution for an aero system? right now its just some powdered bloom boost stuff, 10-50-10, and has the micro nutes and everything, just wonderin if you needa get hydro specific nutes or do any work as long as u mix them in the correct ppm

Hydro nutes are really a must, fox farm ferts are interchangeable between the two (except Grow Big which has a hydro specific formula). Otherwise dosing is a pain in the ass and the results may not be that great.

k, well the shutlz bloom boost i have now, which was 20 bucks so id like to use it if i can, does have a mixture ratio for hydro use, it was like 2tsp/10 gal, and ya i know fox farm are super but if it has a mixture ratio for hydro on the box think im in the safe?

In an aero setup dont use any dry nutes.Shultz is for your lawn and roses not ganja so thats a waste.Get the FoxFarm 3 pack which is like 39 bucks gets you all 3 nutes you will need in an aero setup and get a good filter for your pump or filter bag as any impurity can ruin a whole grow in minutes. No molasses in an aero setup either..

if it has directions for use in watergardens then it is okay for hydroponics. but like b said, don't be surprised if the dry mix clogs you rig.

Common houseplant ferts are also designed for use in potting soil, which will contain some trace minerals and micronutes that inert hydroponic media like rockwool and expanded clay pellets just won't have. Hydro nutes are designed with inert media in mind, so all nutes necessary are in the sauce.

No molasses- or sugars of any kind, including the "carboload" magic sauce, should be put in any hydro system.

Human athletes might respond to 'carbo loading' but plants won't. It's like putting a bale of hay in front of a fish and expecting it to yum it up.

Sugars in a nutrient solution will feed fungi, bacteria and moulds- but it won't do a thing for a plant.

There's lots of 'magic sauce' salesmen and advertising literature which says sugars are a miracle plant food, but I seriously doubt there's any real research which supports that notion.

As soon as someone comes up with a piece of peer-reviewed botanical research literature indicating that sugars are worth anything to a plant, I'll change that tune, but not before.
