You can't see anything to tell if they are done? Are the trichomes clear, cloudy, amber? Are the pistils going orange/brown, are they retracting? Anyway the strain etc..... have you searched for others on RIU growing the same strain and how long they took to finish? Anyway I'm sure the experts will be along soon with actual help. I'm still far to new, only just finished my first grow, so I'm not someone to rely on for information.

dude idk if you dont get it but you cant really tell just by looking at it. invest a couple bucks at amazon and buy a 60x pocket microscope and look at the trics you usually want majority amber and the rest really milky white

You dont want mostly amber trichs at all. When they are amber this means the thc levels in the amber trichs has greatly diminished. Up to 90% i believe. They should be mostly cloudy and only a small percentage amber. I think fieldgrow ment this but got it mixed up?... Unless he harvests mainly amber trichs for a different kind of high... Research tho and youl see the key is to aim for mainly cloudy trichs.

Go on amazon.com and get a jeweler's loupe dear ladyfriend. They are really cheap and they will show the tric's color well. Also, I'd shoot for no more than 5%-10% ambering tric's. The plants look beautiful and they are starting "the pull" where they retract the color/foodstorage from their leaves to push out that last bit of sexual maturation and really ramp up that final bit of THC production. The pull is a sign that you are close to the end. The pistils will probably start to change color and darken before the tric's do. But also hot temp and hot nutes can shrivel up and brown the tric's too. If you need any more assistance feel free to PM me and I'd be more than glad to help.

Not ready yet, wait 'till those hairs start retreating inward while also watching for 'frosting' of the trichomes.

From my experience, they don't look ready, looks like they need ATLEAST another week to go if not 2 wait till the pistil's receed and the caylex's swell, and pluck all those dead leafs off. Only sure fire way to tell is with a microscope, pick one up from radio shack if they are around you. 100x handheld microscope for $12 you can check the buds with and you dont even have to clip a nug.
