Are my plants both males?

i am incredibly new and only doing this for myself, nothing huge scale. I’ve just started the flowering stage and was checking to see what gender what plants are beginning to reveal themselves to be. I’ve attached a photo of what I’m finding on each.

One I’m pretty sure is a male, which makes me sad. But before I toss him I wanted to double check with a group of folks who would know way better than I. The other...I don’t really know..

I’m sure this question has been asked a 100x. Sorry if so. The strain is black jack.

Nothing i can see indicating sex yet. How many days from switch to flower? P.S. First pic is iffy, need a closer shot but could be flower forming

Thanks!

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking. :( oh well. If it keeps looking this why by next Monday I’ll rip him out.

Super sad to do it, i mainlined that plant to see if I could pull it off. I kept the other one growing normally with a few prunings here and there during veg as a control to compare the two.

Well give it a week or two but definite one. Sadly I’ll bank the second one probably will be male too. But give it time and be sure. But I’m fairly good at sexing plants early.

I guess that’s just the way it goes sometimes! I guess I ought to plant four plants instead of two next round just to be on the safe side. Spring is right around the corner, at least.

Thanks for the help!

First is definitely a male.
Are they the same strain?
If so the second is likely a female as the males tend to flower first and you have nothing showing on the other one that i can see.
50/50 not bad.
I got 5 males and 1 female on my current grow.
Bad luck but the one plant is growing larger since it's not competing for space.

They are both the same strain! Thanks for giving me hope! I’ll give them both another week and then post some more photos.

And ouch! That’s my kind of luck you described haha. But at least she’s got all the room to grow into her best self. That’s the way I’m gonna look at this experience (if it’s a girl, that is).

The first pic is female and the second is male. Since you're new I'd suggest letting them go as long as they have to for you to be 100% on your own. You could also keep a close eye on the male to collect the first little bit of pollen to dust a lower bud or two before cutting it.

Also, they both have well defined preflowers. The first pic is the classic early female preflower calyx with no hairs.

Just to clarify:

The first photo is the female? That’s the one I thought was male that everyone else said was male. Your first photo that you see- it’s the picture I posted that has more leaves in it, right? And the second photo you see is the photo of a closeup of where a the plants sex will be made evident only without a lot of leaves? Or are you seeing it the other way around?

Not doubting you, just want to be sure that we’re seeing the same things!
