Are my plants flowering early??

Hey guys, so I'm growing 2 plants outdoors and I don't know what strains they are and if they're autoflower or not, but I can tell that one is sativa and the other is indica due to the leaf shapes and the height of the plant. Well lately they've been showing more white pistils and I'm starting to wonder if they're flowering early. At first I thought nothing of it because I thought they were just mature enough to show their genders, but now I'm not sure. The main reason that I'm asking is because I was planning on getting some veg nutes for them today but now I'm wondering if I should just get flowering nutes instead. One thing I should add is that these plants are being grown in the shade with about only 2-3 hours of direct sunlight per day as that is currently the only option. What do you guys think? I heard t hat it can really stunt the plant and decrease yields even more if you try and force them back into veg compared to if you just let them go ahead and start flowering.

I have a couple of hi-CBD plants that I was vegging under 8 - 4' T-12s and they were looking like yours with way more preflowers than is usual and seemed to be flowering under 18hour light. I swapped in my 400W MH and the new growth is coming in with a few flowers but way less than before so it must be lack of strong light that was doing it.

If there's no other option for your grow space then might as well start with some flowering nutes but because of the lighting conditions don't expect too big a yield.

Good luck!

I meant to add that if they want to veg they'll still veg with flowering nutes and you can always add something with nitrogen in it if they yellow in the older leaves.

Some of my biggest plants have been from ladies that have flowered early and revegged.

They get really stunted and look ugly asf for awhile, usually better to start fresh with another clone or a seed if possible.

Also, 2-3 hours of sunlight is definiltey not enough, if they do flower, you are gonna have some real airy buds.

Yeah I agree, I'm gonna try and see if there's any way to possibly get them more direct sunlight. So do you think I should use nutes for flowering on them instead?

I just went in to check on my CBD palnts and damned if they aren't reverting to veg and getting single bladed leaves in the new growth. So it seems that giving them stronger light was the trick. In decades of growing pot I've seen that happen but never connected the light changes to it.

I was going to get some cuttings off each of the 3 plants first then find room for the mothers in the flowering room so I can get some of that CBD bud my achy joints like so much ASAP. Still gonna anyway.

Damn with a bud like that I can see why you wanted to stay in flower! I wanted to try and get them some more sunlight today, but just my luck its cloudy today! Damn mother nature again! What these plants are doing still has me conflicted on wether or not I should use veg or flower nutes, what do you think? I'm trying to get opinions on what nutes I should go with from everyone.

Yeah I really think that being in the shade for most of the day is what caused my plants to flower early, in a way I kind of hope that they do revert back to veg so that I can take some cuttings from them and start fresh with those cuttings.

Stick with Veg nutes unit mid-late August.

Thanks for adding your opinion! So will using the veg nutes make them go back into veg or will that make them start vegging and flowering at the same time?
The types of nutes you give them will not induce or prevent flowering. Flowering is dependent on the type of plant and the light they are growing under. Light has the most influence on whether they flower or not and the kind of light your plants are getting makes them think summer is over and it's time to bud up.

Feed them a good blend of all nutes and if you want them to go back to full time veg get them out into full daylight all day. Simple.

Thanks for the tip! I moved them into a different spot today and I noticed the full effect that growing in the shade has had on them. Their stems are still too weak and practically topple over when a breeze hits them and they don't look quite vigorous enough yet for flowering, I do think that not being in direct sunlight is what caused all of this especially since light is the determining factor between veg and flower. I don't know much about these plants other than one is an indica and the other is a sativa due to the height difference and leaf shape, but my hookup who gave me these also gave me a smaller sized plant that was ready to harvest and he said it had been grown outdoors, so it also crossed my mind that these plants could be autos as well.

Just wanted to give a quick update, I have moved them to a spot with more direct sunlight and I went ahead and gave them some veg nutes. I also talked to my buddy who also got some plants from this same hookup today and his are flowering too, so I'm really starting to wonder if these are autos because he had his in a sunnier spot and they still started flowering.
