Hi all. Can i just say what a wicked site. Some of the people on here have an unbelievable knowledge of growing. I was finishing off some smoke and had some leftover seeds and thought i would put them in some spare pots and see what happens. They ended up sprouting but the stems are sooooo weak and keep blowing over. I tied up all three but the stems dont seem to be strengthening at all. I removed one from its original pot, as it didnt have any drain holes in the bottom, and replanted it without it being tied up. I thought this may make it stronger?

The two pots on the left dont have drain holes in the bottom but they look healthy so should i leave them alone?

Appreciate any help or advice. I plan on trying to not smoke until these babies produce something. i may be waiting a while......

are u just using sunlight? because they look like you need some light and maybe a wind breaker if your using the sun
Yes just the good old sun. We have been having 30 degree days though and its in full sun from 7am - 5pm. I know it not ideal. I simply germinated them in the soil with some water. They were inside though on my kitchen table.

Get more light if you want buy some cfls to help the early stages for a light supplement until you decide to flower. when its fall for you just leave em outside let mother nature do her thing

P.S. outside grow get bigger pots but later after they start to grow out of those pot don't get in a hurry to transplant unless rootbound which they are not

Call me retarded but i want to try and grow them under sunlight and not artificial. I know they will be better plants its just my mrs would tell me to piss off if i fill our spare bedroom with plants and lights. You talk about "fall" which i know is an american term for a season. Which one you will have to tell me. Our longest day is december 22 and the days get shorter until about late july. When should these bad boys show signs of their sex?

Plants outdoors in my area of the Northern hemisphere (40 degrees N Lat)will show sex in August or Sept and have to finish by the end of October or the frost kills them.....
As you have passed your longest daylight date........if we flip the calendar from our June 21 Summer Solstice(longest day)...that should mean your's will start to show sex in February or March...roughly centered around March 1st..... Start watching mid February.....
This is an estimate.....you might want to look for some Aussie growers who'll have much better knowledge of your area.

Fall......is the season between summer heat and winter cold.......When Desiduous trees lose their leaves......hence they "Fall" to the ground. For us that means sept 21-Dec 20....so you can see sex has been determined before then.. As the days shorten and the heat decreases, but prior to leaf drop.......should be when the sex shows.....

Ok so after a i challenged another newbie to a grow race and found out he had his under lights i thought i needed to compete. Sadly this is what i came up with. Its a fluro light in there and reasonably strong and the plants seem to like it. Here are some pics of the juicy setup. lol. Any tips are appreciated. One of the plants original oval leaves are turning yellow. Do they just drop off or it is an issue with the plant? I havent over watered but i did give it some steriods a week ago.

The plant in pic 3 (furthest right) will keep on stretching if you dont supplement the light quickly. You are better off by far outside, shit you are in Australia in the summer!
Please ignore the people advising supplementary cfl advise, im sure they mean well but obviously dont understand your climate. You are barking up the wrongh tree bringing them indoors and putting them under inadequate lighting. They will end up 6 ft tall will no strength to hold any weight and will take 3 times longer to finish than outside. Get them in the natural light Quick!!!

Thanks for the reply. Yeah i have them outside from 7am til 5/6pm when it gets dark. I then bring them in and put them in the esky under lights. I agree that the Aus sun should be plenty as i have been melting in the sun lately. They actually grew that tall from being outside. Its only the last 2 days that they have been under the lights for additional growth time. As i said earlier i will not be getting any smoke unless these babies produce so i need all the help/encouragement i can get.

whenever i've had this problem i added more dirt to the pot up to just under the round leaves and it helped stabalize the plant a lot.

If you can grow outside without worrying about getting caught then def grow outside :P

Usually you would start the grow quite a lot earlier in the year, but it you still might get a small crop.

I actually just took a clipping for a friend and I'm trying to get it to root atm. Race that plant instead, damn the indoorness.

indoor growing takes a lot more knowledge and effort than it appears at a glance. I know from bad experience haha
