are ph meters worth buying?

I am currently using the GH PH drops debating if I should buy a ph meter. I've used them in the past but there's always been some kind of problem with those things. What do u guys think? Are they really worth it?

Hello,

Used different meters and the one that did a very good job while never breaking and cost a little is called milwaukee ph600 . It cost around 15-25$ online depend where you order it. It is a very accurate meter for the price.

Hope it helped, wish you a nice day!

if you can afford one it is a good tool to have. For hydro growing it is a must have.

Does this work for soil?

I bought a really cheap one and realised it isn't accurate. However, it is consistant. So I just figured out what it was using a friends very expensive meter and wrote down that mine is roughly +1.7. So I know to just always subtract that off my reading and I know what I have.

Just figured I would post that encase you bought one and it ended up being not very accurate. This way it wasn't a total waste of money. After all, we are here to get high, not rage and waste money.

Exactly. So if you're growing in soil I am here to assure everyone that you don't need to waste any money on pH meters, pH Up or Down, or waste any time constantly fussing with pH. Drops are a good stand-by to test run-off but to be honest with you once you know what you're doing you really don't even need those.

No...no reason to get a fancy meter if you have the drops...the drops tell you the same info, and don't have to be calibrated.
