i have a white dragon female right now, and i waited until she was very mature, and once i changed to 12.12 light she had pistils everywhere just in one night.... in short im with homegrown on the one, wait until plant is mature!

Yep. It's always like that, minimal waiting time when pre-flowered. Can take a few days since she's still in veg mode, but only a few at that, not like the weeks you could be waiting for them to show if forced.

how long does it usually take for them to start showing pre-flowers?
And after they show their pre-flowers how soon could you switch it
to 12/12???

It depends on strain, amount of light time, and a few other things, but as a general rule between the 6-8th week of growth. My last grow all plants showed at 5 weeks, but I let them go to become mothers.

Once the plants have reached the preflowering stage you can switch to 12/12 at anytime, and it will only be days for buds to start forming.

Homegrown makes a good point here, let the plants mature enough to show Pre Flowers. Every seed I have grown has eventually shown them 5-7 weeks in.

Once you got a good mother plant you can stop worrying about sex cuz all those clones you make from momma will all be females. Its been a while since I grew from a seed, years it seems.

Thx. Most people think they have to wait months for preflowers, and that the plant will be "too big" It's hard to argue with people that have a thick skull, and younger then you. Alot of people on here say once the plant is 12" then you should flower it...but in actual fact the plants not going to get 3 feet tall by the time it's 5-6 weeks old, and there are MANY techniques to keep plants short.
