And all with out the help of med patients that grow their own. :)

Less than a month after the federal government began handing out licenses to producers of medical marijuana, there are early signs from some companies that business is growing faster than expected in the fledgling industry.
Smiths Falls, Ont., based Tweed Inc. announced last week it would not be registering new customers until it was sure it had sufficient supply to meet the demand.
The company also announced it was accelerating its expected production by the end of 2014 from 1.5 million grams to 6 million grams per year. The company said it had upgraded its forecast demand based on higher-than-expected registration and application information.
"We're accelerating our construction program, bringing much of the construction we thought would be next year into this year," said Tweed chair Bruce Linton.
Philippe Lucas, an executive with Nanaimo, B.C., based Tilray, said his company has just completed construction on a $10 million, 60,000 sq ft state of the art growing facility.
"Literally every day we're bringing people on board," said Lucas. "This has been a rapid rise in what really is the dawn of a new biotech industry."
Tilray began shipping its first product this week, and Tweed was expected to also begin shipping this week.
When the federal government announced the first licensed producers of medical marijuana, there were five companies. Health Canada's website now lists 13 authorized companies.
Michael Mulvey, an assistant professor of marketing at the University of Ottawa's Telfer School of Management, believes the fast-growing business is sustainable.
"I think a lot of people are probably looking at it as an investment opportunity. And I think it's partly because it's very disruptive. It's looking at the current status quo and presenting an opportunity to rethink how we think about health," said Mulvey.
Mulvey thinks as the market grows international competitors will likely enter the field and said he expects to see some consolidation as the industry matures.

there are plenty of ways to interpret ,this kind of news, depending on what your slant or angle you are approaching it from...
this seems a tad slanted towards getting people to invest...in this flightless bird (fledgling)....
you stated this is without the help of medical patients...that grow their own....
so 40,000 +/- med patients take away 26,000 that grow...= 14,000 potential clients...for lp's, which is not too bad considering there are so few lp's at the moment...
now out of that 14,000 probably not all are patients of lp's so that's a minus some... and plenty more can't afford high priced meds...so that's minus some more....
of course a few more join each week, so that's plus some......
not sure if we are witnessing any kind of exponential growth or anything...
more just maybe the people, who need their meds...trying to get their meds...

There isn't one LP that's going to that's going to say things are shitty. They will always slant it in favour of as opposed to.

TWEED just wants to inflate their value on the stock market. That will be tough since they are using COLD PASTURIZATION. aka IRRADIATION

All sounds a little too rosey to me. Could be propaganda designed to paint a better picture than is reality. Maybe

I think Tweed will be in big trouble once all the smaller-scale LP's are up and running and there is a ton of selection. After all this B.S, what patient is going to want to buy over-priced, irradiated mystery-weed from the Walmart of MMJ when there will be a host of smaller-scale LP's that will be offering a selection of organic, non-irradiated medicine of a higher quality and a lower price? Next they will by cryogenically freezing their cannabis to prevent tonnes of it from going bad from sitting around for years unsold.

I personally will not purchase from a large scale producer if I ever have to buy it. It only makes sense that small scale is where the quality will be. I think the problem will then become that small scale will grow and become large scale and patients will have to start all over again and again. Of course, I still believe that this is all going to be in the past tense once legalization happens. Then I can have my own small scale garden!

While cash is king among marijuana stocks, investors also need to be aware that this cash isn't just being plucked out of trees. In many instances, the way pot stocks accomplish capital raises is through secondary or bought-deal offerings. In a bought-deal offering, which is particularly common in Canada, an investment firm or institution agrees to buy an entire share offering from a client.

That these companies have been able to raise as much capital as they have signifies that there's a lot of investor interest in the marijuana industry. However, it needs to be pointed out that these secondary offerings and bought-deal financings are pushing up the outstanding share counts of these stocks and potentially diluting existing shareholders. There's no doubt that this capital is very much needed if these pot companies hope to remain competitive, but it's likely to be a near-term hindrance to investors.

While we're on the subject, also keep in the forefront of your mind that recreational marijuana is still illegal throughout all of North America. Despite all the projections of growth, nothing matters unless Canada, Mexico, or the U.S. alters its broader stance on cannabis. Canada seems to be the likeliest of the three to make that happen, making the four Canadian cannabis giants a potentially intriguing play. Nevertheless, without a bill being signed into law, pot stocks remain a very risky investment, huge cash balances or not.

Right up to .....and passed legalization...if and when that EVER happnes..
as it stands now ITS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN ...with people being able to use cannabis legally in all regards!
PATIENTS have that RIGHT!
OH YA TRUDY yer gonna love this one..failmiester fool
