At what stage do Hydro Buds start to chunk up

Hi all,

Have grown outdoors for a few years but have now experienced the indoor growing.

Posted a Q the other day about stretching as i thought my plants buds were not going to join up. Im happy to say that after 4weeks of flowering the plants have really come on. The crown buds have gown together nicely.

Now after reading i realise it differs between strains but when have you experience guys seen the biggest growth. At what stage of flowering. Is it wk 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 etc.

Yeah i was hopeing they would be ready in 8wks. Still got 3 1/2 wks to go. Hopefully they just do it overnight.

your strain is very dependant on when you are ready to cut. it you are running a sativa dominant you are going to be more toward the 9 or 10 week even up to 12. but most indica dominant strains are done in 8 or 9 weeks. If you are running sativa strains then you wont see alot of swelling until week 7 or 8. Also another factor can be what kind of nutrients you feed your plants and when you feed them. Some people keep it simple and get good results, but i run about 10 bottles and everything does something different. What nutrients are you running by the way?

I run a bubbleponics setup and i consatntly feed them Dutch master.

Another question i have is Can you cut the big fan leaves away from the big collars to allow more light to get to the smaller ones.

i read on here the other day a guy saying hedoes and then there was another guy saying dont do that because the fan leaves are the plants life blood.

What do you wreckon.

i dont cut any leaves off unless they are dead or dying. these are usually on the bottom of the plant. The plant stores nutrients in the big leaves and that is how the eats. It stores the food and sugar in there that the plant will eventually use up during the last week or two during the flush. This is why you see your leaves starting to turn from deep green to light green to yellow during the flush the plant is using up all the nutrients to finnish off. On the subject of nutrients i have only used one product from dutch masters and that is their silica. Other than that i only use Advanced nutrients and i run a couple of botanicare stuff too. Have u ever used either one and if so how do they compare. I know i love the results i get from my recipie
