I do not believe in any god whatsoever. I have learned about many different religions, tried them out... none of them worked for me. For a while I thought that maybe I was being too picky and I was just looking for the "perfect religion."

But that wasn't the case at all. I just plain and simple don't believe any of it. Every religion contradicts itself, and the only purpose I've ever seen religion serve is a security blanket.

I refuse to put my faith in something that I can't prove really exists. To me, that doesn't make sense. I put my faith in my friends and my family.

I don't need a religion, a church, or a god to help me. That is what friends and family are for. They help you get through the tough times.

I believe in the power of the human mind, and I think we weaken ourselves when we put all of our faith in a god.

I don't follow any organized religion but do have a belief in a sort of spirituality, ie the law of Karma. What goes around comes around. I believe that the cosmos has a sort of organizing essence about it. I don't believe in any sort of authoritarian God- "The old man in the chair" though.

i believe in self enlightenment,

you are your own god.
if your going to put all your faith in something put it in yourself.

dont worry about anything like hell or heaven, just live.

like you say, alot of religions dont make sense..they prove themselves wrong

All generalizations are false.

Your magenta colored font is disturbing the force.

What goes around does not come around. Karma is a farce.

You are your own damn god. The denial of this leaves one impotent.

Maybe you should try Satanism.

i never believed in anything.. i dont know why. Never believed in santa clause, easter bunny etc. as a kid... even my parents thought that was weird. So obviously when it came to religion... the belief wasn't there. I wish there was a God.. i mean, who wouldn't want to live in paradise for eternity? but when it comes down to it... were all juuuuust worm food

but fuck it right ... have a good time while we're here :blsmoke:

My understanding is that karma is a buddhist concept. I have read quite a bit of that philosophy and found it to make sense. There is beauty to be found in nature and it seems that there is some kind of congruence with our biology and the natural world that seems to reflect some kind of harmony there. I wouldn't call it a god in the Xtian sense though. It doesn't watch over you and reward and punish specific behaviors.

Yeah Buddhism is the only one that really comes close to making any sense... did a little research on it about 5 years ago... and I couldn't make a lot of sense out of it. What I could understand seemed ok... but then there was all this other stuff that involved goddesses and that's where my research stopped.

Karma, I believe, stems from Hinduism.

They also have the Caste system.... kiss-ass
Buddhists believe the purpose of life is to end suffering.
Karma would teach people to do nice things, in turn nice things will happen to them, which would be a step toward the Buddhist life goal.

But whatever. I still think all organized religion is BS.

That's not meant to to offensive or "shut up". Just realize we have 7000 years of recorded history and you'll be around for maybe 70 years. That's two orders of magnitude of catching up.

I always tell people I respect them, but I will definitely challenge your beliefs. And I hope you to do the same, as long as it is done in a beneficial manner.

Nothing is more over-rated than the human mind.

The first two words above "I believe" is the starting point of religion.

You could worship ALGORE of nature or something. Keep searching. lol

I can sometimes see the link between Karma and being your own god, being responsible for yourself, when I'm having a shity day or I turn out a negative attitude with a co-worker I usually get the same back. Now not that this co-worker is putting out negative energy but because I'm focused on the negative I will precieve thier re-action as negative.

Laws of attraction. If your focused on hitting every red light on your drive to work you will surely notice every red light on the way to work. If your focused on something else you could hit the same amount of red lights and never think about it. Then if someone were to tell you they were behind you the whole way and that you hit the same amount of reds as the other day when you were bithing about them you would probably not believe them.

Haha I'll agree to disagree with you on that one. I do not believe in organized religion of any kind.
And I never will.

The reason you think the human mind is over-rated is because you've been brainwashed by a religion to think that. lol

I took offense because I didn't make this thread to debate what I do or don't believe in. If I wanted a debate I would've asked for one.
