if you dont veg, long enough you wont see much weed
correct if i had to cut my veg time by even 1 week that could cut my harvest in HALF. I go 28 days minimum to get my lb anything extra is a massive bonus as i grow in between inspections and have a very limited grow/flower time. I've never had to harvest early as i always start early to make sure i always have 7-8 weeks to flower.

Yeah i'm happy with not much, chopping 5p by myself was crazy, think i was chopping flat out for a week plus my new tent is less than half the size of my old room and i'm gonna keep this next strain for a while and 1st grow with it will be a test to see how much it stretches, then i'll perfect it from there. I as also thinking, for the first time in about 8 years, of trying something new hahaha.. might give this Scrog shit a go and see if it's really worth all the extra work.

He flowmasta.. Just wondering, what size pot did you use for that one plant SOG? I was using big arsed 40litre pots and when i pulled the plants after harvest i noticed that the plants hadn't even used 75% of the growing medium so I recon i went a bit overboard but the plants were massive.
i use 50 litre pots and fill them to the extreme. Perlite is 100% furious with 0% restriction, the roots pass through like a hot knife in butter :) Maximum size for my grow time and plant size. This can accommodate a 2lb plant easily packed full with 100% perlite. The space between the 2 pots acts as a small oxygen sack where even more roots grow, these never rot as i keep my res activated and oxygenated with a good fresh airstone. I always change airstones whenever i see the bubble levels drop down, don't clean them, by new ones, they build up salt it's just how they are. Also check your filters in the air pumps that run your airstones to make sure they are running efficient not like a blocked vacuum cleaner. They have a special valve inside the air pump and this needs to be able to breathe.

Hey, pretty much the same pots that I use but I drill a million 5mm holes in the bottom and up the sides about an inch. I have often wondered about the use of perlite, it's very light though so i thought it might not have thre strength to hold up big plants, I am obviously wrong there. I go about an inch of clay balls at the bottom of each pots then grodan wool but fluff it up an don't compact it in the pot then ad about an inch thick of ball on top too. Whats yr watering schedule like for the perlight? You could run it pretty much all the tie couldn't you? I might start experimenting with a few different things after a few more grows.

I like the lots of holes idea, both vitually the same efficiency.
I wouldn't use rockwool. No point. Perlite is a perfect medium by itself wool would hold a little too much water.
I feed every 3-4 hours auto set on a 15 minute interval timer

See I feed with a similar timing schedule in the Grodan and never have any over watering issues, but it is just dripping not a contant flow. You wouldn't be dripping would ya? As for the holes it looks like you use pot sox, true?

How much does perlite cost per 2 50 liter tubs?

Yeah I am thinking of making one tomorrow.. Ive bought a few things like the PVC pipe but was waiting till I found the perfect tub... Bunnings had stuff all in the way of black tubs with lids so I've decided i'm gonna use a 20gallon black bucket and lid, only downside is it will probably only do about 12 buts than fine when you only nee two haha...

Mine does not drip, it flows quite fast, 1250 litres/hour. Dripping would not wet my entire pot sufficiently, maybe this is why yours never filled completely. If you can drench the entire pot, and it stays at a consistent perfect water/oxygen ratio the roots will chase faster and travel further, as they not only search for water but oxygen also. :)

all, i did smokers was, use standard bunnings stuff.

1. 52l tub $22.00
2. aqurium pump, with air hose, $30.00
3. green cheepo clonetray, with clear lid $7.00

to make this i used a soldering iron to melt holes in the green tray,

then fitted it to the lid of the 52l tub, and siliconed around the join to make the only pathe for the air/water is into the dome, (as you can see by all the condensation in the photo)

the pump combines the air/water/nutes and the bubbles created float upwards releaseing oxygen, and humidity for the roots

i ran my res in my tent my first grow, it was fine in winter, i wouldn't in summer. I keep mine outside the tent now to keep mixing and flushing an easier task aswell as keeping res temps down to ambient (20 degrees c )

Yeah I never have but this tent that ive got the lowest air inlet is higher than my return drain on my buckets, dont think it'll matter too much but it's slightly annoying.
