View attachment 4014472 LED and those who know 'lectrics.

What are these like https://horticulturelightinggroup.com/collections/diy/products/qb120-quantum-board
and how many would I need to replace a 600 HID in a 4 x 4 and how many of these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0180X3SRK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1, would I need? (ok 1 per QB- they cheap though..)

They look REALLY bright...and reasonably priced.. Got to be a catch???
might need a few of those little boards to replace a 600. Bit of a ripoff too. Only 120 wee little chips on those (I run LED strips and each strip has 96 of the same LEDs as those panels and cost $10, came with a driver, free shipping etc). If you are looking for HID replacement quantum boards you need the big fuckers (or cobs or shitloads of strips)

ive sent the guy a msg that I stole the pic off to see what size his tent is. That's his veg lights and it looks like a 4 x 4 tent....IF he can veg that well with only 2 QB in a 4 x 4 then 4 should be fine for flowering?? I'm new to this led stuff..confuses me.

Oh yes giggs don't get me wrong we all have a limit to our pain threshold
I think I was more saying young mad fit as fuck whole world owes me type attitude kinda noone can touch me lol
But if I got sacked a gd one I would feel it these days...i feel like I'm still recovering 2 days after heavy shovelling of only 4 hrs
I fell 2 stories drunk as Fuck and landed on my back. I heard everyone screaming and I thought someone was hurt and that I had knocked them down the stairs. But they were sreaming because I fell off a table on the second story balcony. I didn't even realise I had fallen haha not a scratch.

I'm by no means anti LED and I think it won't be long and they will make HID redundant but I don't think that time is here yet and I think the quantum boards or a similar design will be type of fitting to do it. But for now it's really hard to go past DE HID fittings for flower at least

the tech is moving along so fast. The companies need to regulate themselves more as there seems to be a lot of outlandish claims. They also need to make the terms etc more user friendly for non tech buyers.

I agree about the outlandish claims and self regulation would be great but if they did do that 3/4 of the companies wouldn't sell another fitting.

One thing that needs to be made more available is the par values. Wattage is a poor value to go by when talking about grow lights. Plants don't care about watts. Only the density of useable photons.
It's like @Lucky Luke was saying in his post how can you trust any companies PAR ratings ? And PAR meters are expensive items most people wouldn't be able to accurately use. Lumens was unit that people used to measure grow lights and I knew a guy who's yield was decreasing every crop but would not change his 3 year old lamps because his $20 lux meter was showing that the globes were still putting out there rated output haha Independent tests are the only reliable results other than actual yields.

Here you go - I've got 10 strips mounted on some aluminium sheet from Bunnings in a 0.8 x 0.8 box and it really is bright as shit. Also got my prices fucked up, these are about 12 bucks so they really shoot a massive hole in your finances. Plus I used that checker plate aluminium so it looks tough which is a bonus
