It’s called aerial layering,takes a bit longer than normal clones and not as good of a strike rate but for larger chunkier clones it isn’t a bad option

I wonder why the strike rate isn't as good. Don't they technically get feed off the mother while they're striking roots of their own?

I girdle about 5/6th of the way round the stem so a little bit of nutrient and water get past,I’ve found the biggest issue is the girdled part healing or drying out before a callous forms,but it could be bad technique on my part

Nah the light can’t penetrate the rockwool or peat same as with a normal clone and with glad wrap you can see if there’s enough moisture . I’ve used these before and they work well I just couldn’t be fucked finding them in amongst all my shit.
