Can anyone suggest a good soil that can be purchased from Bunnings or other hardware stores in aus?
Hey you can get vermiculite at bunnings and use it as soil just add your own nutrients, they mostly stock"slow release fertiliser" soil, this is no good, most of the soil in the bush or out of town in australia is realy good to grow in tho, especialy in the south east

Depends on what your growing in, open beds or pots? are you going synthetic nutes or are you going organic or a mixture how often will you be watering, how hot does it get where you are and about a million other questions.

I make my own soil personally, but the Yates organic stuff for $7-9 a bag is good, the cheapest stuff is a good base if you buy some bags of perlite (not from bunnings they are crazy expensive) some dolomite and a big ole bag of dynamic lifter, then mix it all up sand let it sit for a few months.

They charge something like 5 bucks for 5litres of vermiculite from a hydro store or even offline you can get chillagoe 100litre bags cheaper usually about $30.

You can go soilless and if your going to and your relatively new to the game I'd suggest hempies you can't overwater and you can get some amazing results from a 90litre brick of coir a bag of perlite and some thrive and a dash of dolomite.

Does anyone know where I can buy seeds that are already in australia, and I trusted place
No.

Dope seeds
Gypsy nirvana
Herbies
Seedsman
Planetskunk
Attitude

these are all legit sites I've gotten shit from their are no AUS seed banks as yet and likely won't be, bite the bullet and if your really paranoid go planet skunk they have a Aus bank account use a fake name get it sent to a letterbox of a random third party that can keep their mouth shut and deny any knowledge if they get intercepted.

Using pots and growing indoors under HPS. I have 2 seedlings in Debco Potmate potting mix for herbs and vegetables but I just read on the back it's slow release :\ The guy at bunnings suggested it when I told him I was looking for a good soil for growing some veggies. It's coming to the end of Winter where I live but it is quite cold in Melbourne most of the year (compared to rest of aus).

Go the yates organic? Will I need to purchase nutes for that? Sorry for all the questions in this thread, just couldn't find the soils recommended in most threads as they are American.

What are hempies? I keep getting clothing in google. (Found it).. another update.. wow hempies look so easy, def gonna switch to those instead.

Hempies look to be a good idea actually.. any chance I can save this little sprouts that I have going already? Can they be xferred to hempies? What sort of nutes should I get from bunnings? Afghan kush is what I have avail atm if that makes any diff.

Go there and on the date where sunlight hours begin increasing out of winter that is when is the best time to plant.
its around the grand final when ever that is i dont follow footy or rugby which ever one it is.but if u have a greenhouse you can extend you outdoor season by upto 1-2 months.. depending on where u are u in aus. i thru me seeds out at about 5 weeks earlyer because the greenhouse keeps them warm and there to young to flower regardless of lighthours.

debco seed raising mix is good , has some nice drainage ..if your new stick to something like that.if you have been growing for a while grab the osmocotes 3month feed, its works wonders for me.newbies tend to over water with slow release youll kill your plants with burns

Any tips on how to make sure u don't over water lol, think the 3month feed is all i got at the moment at home and i plan to do a small indoor grow in next week or two. Would you suggest just underwating to make sure or should i just go buy diff soil due to underwater could cause problems?

depends on the size of the pot, soil, wind and temps.i water mine every 3-4 days and my temps stay around 27.

Anyone able to suggest some quality nutes (from bunnings or other places in australia) for vegging and flowering stages? Using hempy buckets under 400w hps. I don't mind spending the money for quality, I just don't know how to tell the shit products from the good ones. Growing in perlite.

Would it be worth doing an outdoor ScrOG grow with 2-4 plants and perhaps greenhousing it? Would it significantly increase yield to make it worth while or should I just stick to regular LST methods like tieing down?? I want enough bud to last me till next season :P haha
