U can thank Kevin '07 for ur problems 'ome. That jackass changed the laws so that any plant cultivated inside & under artificial lighting is considered hydroponic - Nationwide.
Ironically tho u can hav a proper hydroponic setup outside under the sun & it's not hydro.. & u can have a plant inside in soil with an incandescant hovering uphead & look out cos that's Hydro..
I guess that's what happens when u have an uneducated git making policies.

If I were u I'd buy off Ebay, try DHS. In Adelaide shops r now required to take ur details & fax them thru 2 police in real time along with a list of what u brought.
They will do it too, if a D walks in, buys something then gets back 2 the station & the fax isn't there then the shop is up the shit.
Again tho gits making policy - u can buy it interstate & ship it in & no1 will kno as it's a State based law. (Wonder how much taxpayer $$ they wasted to achieve nothing other than ruin the local economy & make a few interstate providers rather well off??)

hmmm Pk13/14 for two weeks ok you rekon? I hit them this week and they shot up!!! So kinda want to hit them again at maybe half strength next week then maybe even quarter strength following week?

I wouldn't if I were u.. PK is a Hit It & Quit It style nutrient. It uses a specific Ratio & Exploits a specific window.. Don't go fucken with it!!

Great. So not only am I not allowed to grow my own quality strains of weed, I have to pay half as much for a set up cost for 28 grams of weed...

Well, I think that I may have to move to Canada (going to start looking into it now...probably move over there in about 6 years)...french canada of course, because there is no canada, like french canada, it's the best canada in the land...and the other canada is a bullshit canada...if you lived there for a day you'd understand (that is a southpark reference for you non SP viewers).

Thanks for the tips on buying from ebay though. If I did go ahead with it I reckon I would get an LED grow light, only a little bit more $$$ but the benefits seem really good. A grow tent for $150, led light for $50, so pots from bunnings...do I actually need a fan or something in the grow tent? As I brew, I could put my yeast starters (i.e. 2 litres of wort - basically malt sugar and water + yeast) in the grow tent and they would pump out some co2 for the plant...thoughts?

dont buy cheap arse led lights off ebay they are crap gimmicks made in china if ya gunna go led you will need to spend a bit on a led light
if you are worried bout running costs on a mh/hps light dont be just remember a portable heater is around 2000w and costs alot more to run than a grow room light

Before you buy a LED off eBay, post a link here and we can tell you just how crap the light panel actually is.

On another note ... my mate got back to me with a price for Air Pots - and if you can buy them from the States, that is probably going to be cheaper.

His wholesale price for the 30cm x 40cm Air Pot (they call them Rocket Pots) is $14.50 each and he has to buy 50 at a time AND apply his mark-up, so you would be looking at over $20.00 per pot plus postage.

His opinion is they are overpriced and unless someone wanted to buy 50 of them he isn't interested in tieing up money in expensive slow moving stock - what a selfish asshole (J/K Bob, if you are reading this).

That panel is not worth the postage, you would be dissapointed.
It "may" be sufficient for vegging/cloning but will be useless for flowering.

A lot of the cheap panels use LEDs that were never designed for horticulture and although they are red and blue, they miss the correct spectrum and have such low light penetration that your plants would struggle to produce any usable buds.

There is no such thing as a good cheap LED.

I use Kessil H150 lights - they cost in the region of $200 per light but do provide the correct usable spectrum and they do have great light penetration.

With the Aussie dollar being so high against the failing US dollar, now is a good time to buy from the States - their economy needs our money more than we do

Oh and you could also click on my link, on page 2 someone posted some info about fungas gnats as I had a bug problem aswell, if its the same bugs it might help.

My mate seems to have risen to the challenge with Air Pots ... he has found a pot that uses a similar concept but is a lot cheaper and is manufactured as a complete pot.

This pot is 320mm dia x 290mm deep and holds 20 litres of growing medium.

Exactly the same as Air Pots, the roots grow outwards until they hit open air which prunes the tips stimulating lots of feeder roots.

He said he could sell this pot for about $7.00 a piece plus postage.

They do come in larger sizes but he can't send the larger ones by Aussie Post.

hey guys i just got a bag of weed with seedy head so i thought id give it a grow also, i am a cloner and unsure on the best way to star from seed

paper towel method works a treat, most of the times i find a tiny taproot only 24 hours after putting it in, i put the paper towel in a tin container which has a lid and that holds the moisture i guess, my tin has been around since i started growing thats all its used for

just stick em in soil and water thats all i do but i use rockwool as i dont grow in soil to many bugs for my liking especially indoors

um rockwool is a hydro medium so im not sure what u mean by grow in rockwool or are you hydro
yes u can grow in just rockwool i start mine in rockwool cubes but i grow in coco
