Aussie Growers Thread

sounds good beginnerbloomer, i wish i had the chance to grow(anything) outdoors.. i use to live out bush 10 years ago.. damn, i could've grown so much more than just veggies :)

Posted this in plant problems thread but figured I'd post it here as well given it's the aussie thread.

Hey,

I'm running 18/6 ATM but I am finding it difficult to control the temps while the light is off. While it is on, humidity (70%) and temp (71F/22C) which from what I've read is pretty good.

While the lights are off, humidity rises to about 90% (even with outtake fan running) and temps drop to 59F/15C due to the cold Melbourne weather in Australia atm.

Am I better off just running 24/0 due to the cold Melbourne weather?

i find it unuasual that your humitidy is rising when the lights go out , normally its the other way around.what system are u running ?15c at nite isnt great but as long as it doesnt reach 14c your plants should be fine, the plants start to shutdown at around 14c

its the opposite in my grown room atm , im growing in soil and the heat from my light/room transfers the water from my soil into humidity.. the same way i guess if u were to put a bowl of water under your light and let it evaporate it ups the humidity.

I think you'll find alot of indicas should thrive in your conditions, remember Mexico, Pakistan, Afghan and India are all close to the equator in the northern hemisphere! From what i can gather down south we have a problem with mould as they grow so dense and when the rains come this is a big problem, which as I write may be your problem, not so much the heat, but humidity. Sativa's grow more sparse but longer flowering time welcomes shitty weather down here also, either way I'd prefer to be in your neck of the woods.
I sent you a message :)
