Hi folks. First time poster here.
My plants have been hit hard by the soaring temperatures in Victoria. I have had them in the shade most of the time but even still a fair few leaves have gone withered and burnt.

My question is should I trim off these leaves or will they recover? I'm presuming I should trim them tbh.

Has anyone else experienced this issue recently? Will my plants recover? Any tips on stopping this from happening again?

Much Appreciated,
ROFL Harris.

hey mate, im in vicco too
same shit happened to my plants check out my grow journal in my signature to see some pics in there. Yes cut them off but make sure they are dead and useless first so give it a couple days to be sure then snip them off right at the base where they come out from the stem.

starting to cool down now so should be fine :)

depends

if there just a little bit damaged and the leaves are healthy loking leave them id say the plant is still using them to photosynthesis...

if the leaf looks like its just gonna die get rid of it.... it wont hurt it the plant theyre dying anyway.... i trim when need be.... doesnt hurt them at all.... sometimes ill take a fresh leaf off ifi think the plant will benefit.... but not if i can acvoid it...

tips to avoid in future.....

#dont water at hot points of the day (try only morning and nights if ya can...)

#dont overfertilize (a little less is more)
# dont let the soil get too dry
# if in pots make sure theyre big enough and dont heat up and damage roots
# dont get water on the leaves during the day...
dont let the soil get too wet, the sun may heat the pots and then the water ultimately stunting your plant
# shade... if you think it will get too hot for the plants shade is allways a good thing to think about...

there ya go theres a few off the top of ma head i hope this helps :)

Thanks guys. Good advice there.

Another Question. Is there a general rule of thumb with regard to what size pots you should be using compared to the size of the plant? How does one know when it's time to up-size? And how does one know when the plant is root-bound.

Cheers.

prolly about a gallon per foot of growth :)

umm if the pots looking too small for the plant lol.

or one way you ca tell is when the plants lookin a bit big for the pot you may see its growth slow down. it may be getting rootbound
(roots may even come out the bottom of the pots in some cases)

Howz the FREAKIN weather ! Its War with mother nature..> 8 mother nature 0 the grower... This type of weather will prove if you are a true grower or a ` i wanna grower`
she some how tests the ability of the grower to over come a DISASTER! Wheather its water, wind, fire, Sun ETC
I LOVE AUS... keeps us on our toes....... lol And if ya get through all the shit and still produce..... well its only going to be easy in favourable conditions. AND YOULL GET BIGGER AND BETTER BUDS...

I swear I just answered this..... anyway, same answer: old trick cut bottom off and plant pot and all 1/2 in. Or be FUCKIN carefull with the ladies roots ANY DAMAGE is bad you will stunt growth and less`in your yeild.......& Not during the day & do it in a wet environment.... but yes.........
Pros: bigger pot bigger plant.!
good luck

Yer mate that will always be advantage.lightly tieing down your branchs..... its called training... It dose exactly that allow more light to spill over the plant..... look up training in the search tag.
Good luck champ hope i helped?!
