Auto Feminized Seed Crop

(This grow is completed)
I decided to take a shot at making some feminised seeds with a friend's remaining auto seeds.

I used colloidal silver. I decided not to make my own after finding some for sale on ebay for $20. I thought it was worth the risk.

The seeds were all auto and all feminized.
I decided to use Lowryder2 for the plant to be made male.

The plants to be seeded:
Lowryder2
Auto Super Lemon Haze
Autoberry
Auto Pineapple Kush

coco
Lucas 6-9, GH
Floralicious Plus

The three candidates for spraying. They all grew about the same. I started spraying day 17. I sprayed twice a day for 7 days. After that I was starting to run low and only sprayed once a day until I ran out.

Day 24, balls. This stuff works.

The formerly female plant is moved out to a shed. At this point it looks more male than female.

In the shed, the pollen sacks are ready to open. The other plants were started a week later.

The girls to be pollinated:

This is when the buds are first starting to show.

At this point there is pollen every where. I gathered some, dried it out and froze it.

I went on vacation and get back to a bunch of seeds that have fallen off the buds. I had someone tending them while I was gone.
So far, without properly drying the seeds, I have had every single one germinate. I have 40 over at a friend's house and they all germinated. I am only growing one in my backyard, a Lowryder/Autoberry.

I haven't gone through the seeds that much. I probably got a 3-5 hundred viable seeds from each plant.

Lowryder2 x Autoberry that popped today.

Granted I have only big fat seeds to plant, but I am surprised that so many have germinated from seeds that had very little time to dry out.

This was so easy. It was worth $20 for the spray. My only regret was that I sprayed the entire plant. I could have sprayed just one branch and gotten plenty of pollen. The rest of the plant would be female and self pollinate.

My next project is under way. I have two regular clones in the veg room that will be turned. The pollen will be collected and used to selectively pollinate my friend's outdoor plants.

Thanks for the informative post! You mentioned not letting the seeds dry out properly...in your opinion, how WOULD you dry them out properly?

Yes.
We have a really dry climate here which helped.
You can get silica packets to help speed the drying.

Nice job!
They also sell cs on amazon. What ppm was yours?
I bought a product called Tiresias Mist. I didn't test the ppm.

Sorry, I didn't answer your question. ("Yes" lol)

I put the seeds in a bag with some desiccant in it. I bought little packs on amazon. Make sure to get the non-toxic ones.
The only reason I use desiccant is because I have it. I bought it to dry out pollen.

When drying seeds with out desiccant, I just put them in an open bag or jar under a sink downstairs. As the Traveling Wilburys said,
"Just put it in a cool dry place."

I used to think that you need to dry seeds a month. My last batch has had a 100% germination rate so far. I have tried to germinate seeds a week after picking them and only had about 50% success.

I think that the addition of Floralicious Plus really made the seeds healthy. That stuff is magic. I use it on my garden plants and spray tomatoes/flowers etc with it.

I had a journal at another site, but I was banned for asking about their precious TOU. I could go back using TOR, but I don't want to share stuff on a site that boots me for no reason other than me embarrassing a mod over his misunderstanding of their own rules.

The Lowryder2 x Autoberry is in there. It was a part of the seed crop.

The Autoberry is in there somewhere. It is second from the left.

Autoberry left in the rear.

Sideways seed infested bud. I think that is Super Lemon Haze.

Some advice:

-Do it. It is not hard. You can spray just one branch so you don't completely infest your buds. If You spray a lower branch, the tops might not get any seeds.

-Do not listen to people who have not made a Feminized seed crop. There are a ton of people willing to give you advice that have never done this before. If I had a dollar for every time some one told me my seeds are going to produce herms...

-I would suggest using the spray Tiresias Mist. It is only $20 on ebay. It is cheap to produce your own, but you probably will not get the ppm that high. I have not produced my own colloidal silver, so I can not speak to it. I thought about producing colloidal silver, then heating it to make some water evaporate to raise the ppm. I have read that low ppm colloidal silver can sometimes produce pollen sacks that have to be manually opened. For $20 I thought it was worth it to get colloidal silver that really works. (I am not pimping Tiresias Mist for any reason other than it works and is not that expensive.)

-If you are going for a seed crop and not looking to selectively pollinate, start your prospective father a week earlier than the rest of the plants.

-Do not spray the entire plant, even if you want a seed crop. You want the father to have some bud sites for some self-pollinated seeds. These are going to be the most stable seeds, basically clones in seed form.

I would be happy to answer any questions on this subject, either by PM or on this thread.

A couple weeks ago I got a regular Blueberry and an Island Sweet Skunk clone to be turned into shemales for selectively pollinating my friend's outdoor plants. This winter I should have about 26-30 different crosses, all fathered by ISS or Blueberry. I can not wait.

Some of the plants to be crossed with ISS and Blueberry shemales:
skunkberry
green crack (hate the name, love the pot)
pre '98 bubba kush
a bubba kush/black kush cross
bubblegum
haze x g13
grandaddy purple
hash plant
durban poison
I'm drawing a blank on the rest.

love how ur repping the durban poison! i miss the old school strains. gd luck with all that, cheers for the info on that Terisias mist or wotever it is. ive looked into colloidal silver before and yeah i know wot u mean about hermie myths. its like maths tho, i learn something one day and the next day i forget. The fact you reminded me that a femenized plant can be self pollinated to produce more femenized seeds is really kool, id forgotten i had plans to make my own colloidal silver, but will b checking out the product u used. plants and set up are good, nice job!

Thanks for all the good information. I have been researching feminizing seeds myself and it doesnt seem all too complicated. As a garden green thumb I love experimenting with plants and this seems like a rewarding task. After I find my fav Auto strain I will def Fem my own seeds so I dont have to buy them for big $$$. Subbed. Keep up the good work.
