Auto flowering? Or feminized seeds?

I am about to purchase my first two seeds from attitude and I'm trying to choose 2 different strains. Both will be feminized because I hate growing and hoping haha. Anyways my question is what exactly does auto flowering mean. Is it that ill plant the seed and them transplant when It sprouts throw it on 24/7 lighting and it automatically flowers when it's ready?

It means exactly as it sounds. It flowers automatically. You have no control over it. It also means you have no control over groowing a bigger plant, it grows as big as it grows, whereas with a normal plant you can veg it for longer so that you get a plant of a size suitable for your lighting and setup.

Personally it would be regular seeds, but between feminized and autoflowering, i wouldn't give autoflowers the time of day. Even if just for the most simple fo reasons, being that you cannot clone them. You have to buy new seeds every time. With a normal plant, you can buy one seed and get as many plants from it as you fancy.

you will have a few people who claim auto's are great, it is each to their own opinion. My opinion is to go with the feminized photoperiod plants. There is one hell of a lot more choice when it comes to photoperiod plants and a hell of a lot more great strains to chose from. Just do a little reading on the seeds you like the look of, as there are some breeders who by all appearances are the best of the ebst, but in reality are one of the worse ones. Such as greenhouse seeds. They're a bit of a scam, they are marketers, not breeders.

I'm really interests in like ice Kush and early widow from attitude. But considering that my former grow and the one I have now have (which I'm pretty sure is a male) have been bag seeds probably from some shwag, I'm tired of it and I'm just going to buy some feminized

ive bene very happy with my auto's i got from AutoSeeds. they grew fast and big and are making lots of flowers. this is my first grow and i choose autos because i wanted something simple that would be hard to screw up.
Im growing 2 autos and 2 photoperiod plants in the same tent under 18/6 light schedule. Having the autos means i get to have a nice harvest after 3 months, and then i have 2 monster plants to put into flower right after i chop.
What i want to do for my next batch is stagger my autos so id plant 2 every month, that way i would in theory be harvesting 2 plants every month and i can grow them all under the same light schedule. It makes sense for me because i have limited space and dont want to invest ina seperate flower and veg room.
In my opinion if you want something relativly quickly autos is the way to go, if you dont mind waiting longer for a bigger yield or you want to be able to clone go with photoperiod. anyways heres a pic of my autos, harvesting in a couple weeks and they look some tasty!

Deep purple easy 9.5 weeks of flower and your cuttings pure Indica tho so don't let it over mature grows straight and short
jack Herrer ,blue venom, big grapefruit , pineapple chunk I will def recommend, if you want an easy strain look for atomix north lights or something with her genetics I find kush tend to be branchy and need more looking after

kush and widow I don't recommend for new growers kush grows branchy, widow depending who's genetics it is can be tricky to get finishing

Auto's are cool, but I only grow them when I get them as freebies, because like tip top says, only 1 plant per seed.
I recommend you get a couple of good fem seeds, make clones, have all the plants you need.

I'm so embarassed to ask this....are autos as nice to smoke? Tastes? Strengths? 32 year smoker here. This is the first time I have had the balls to join a weed forum. I have come out of the closet.

auto-flowering is when you start the plant on 12/12 light schedule and skip the veg. phase entirely. this will get you harvesting faster but the plant will be alot smaller

No it's not. That's called 12/12 from seed. Autoflowers flower no matter the light schedule.

The few auto's I tried were decent. The Afghan Kush Ryder was a pretty killer smoke, nice taste. Auto Northern Lights was good, and there have been a few others I cannot remember right now. I think only reason to grow them would be as a filler, so you could get a midsummer harvest while waiting for fall, or get multiple harvest per year.
Not sure, I may be wrong, but I thought I saw some auto seeds that were regs and not fem. If you were to grow auto's, I think you would want to make seeds,
as you would have to buy seeds because you can't make clones. Also, while there are getting to be a few heavy yielding auto's, you won't be getting a quarter pound off of most plants.

I simply do not understand where this myth came from and why people still spread it. people thieasier to grow than a good feminized seed. The sole difference with a photoperiod seed is that you change the light from 18/6 to 12/12, or as has been said earlier, just run the thing from 12/12 from the start. Other than that they are both cannabis, there is no magic pixie hiding in your auto seed casting spells to make it "easier" to grow. You change your timer. That is the only difference in terms if difficulties. And if you can't change a timer for your lights you probably aren't going to be able to get your head around ph and ppm.

ease of growth was only one of the reasons, hardly the primary one, i lvoe how your post only quoted that part. the main reason is so i can use an 18/6 light cycle at all times in one tent planting 2 new plants eveyr month and harvesting 2 every month. dont read first sentances only.

And due to indica and ruderalis genes autoflowers have hardier genetics then some strains and can better survive swings in temperature and ph problems. and little light leaks during flower wont cause hermies
wrap your head around that
