Note, vertigo had alot of trouble at the beginning...Can you tell lol

CFL 200 watt, If anybody could tell me is 8" pot enough for a decent size auto ( I think that wors out at around a gallon) in my previous grows I use as big as I can but these live in ma cupboard lol

Initially I had my auto in a 4l pot (bit more than a gal) and transplanted it into a larger 6liter pot (almost 2 gal) because it was drinking up too fast, where I had to water every day. If its possible I would transplant as it may bring more yield, but this is also strain dependent as some autos grow larger than others and thus require more root space.

good luck!

Thanks tomato, well strain wise we are talking 1-3 feet I know its a huge gap but those are company specs, I thought bout that but I transplanted them one before and now they are in flowering, so not sure if I should sacrafice some stress or just go for gold and get them into 1.5-2 gal pots. Its a nightmare because all the pots I can find are in inches but I reckon a 10" Pot works out around 1.5-2 lol pain in the arse!:wall:

I transplanted it 4 weeks after sprout, it was already flowering and did not experience any stress or stunted growth from it. If you transplant it carefully they should be fine, autos are more sturdy than regular strains. Sorry I cant really tell from inches the volume of the pot, but maybe try plugging the holes of the pot and start filling it with bottles of water in order to find out the exact volume or simply calculate it. Maybe transplant 1 or 2 plants and compare it to the rest so you will know whether it was necessary or not.

happy growing!

still flowering nicely, having a bit of problem getting light to lower sites but think any pruning or cutting may just slow her down and hurt the yield, got some roots showing on the surface but the plants look healthy, the lights are alot lower but for the sake of pic raised, taking a pic with cfl is a god damn nightmare. still at pistel stage but got a load of em so we shall see =)1311332644818.jpg bottom left is vertigo, to its right is blackjack, top left is auto maria 2 and top right is S.A.D :peace: looks like we may get some nice colas

agree with tomato, bigger pots are probably necessary. I also use 4 liter pots. Go ahead and trim those fans man. You'll be happy you got rid of the fan leaves about 4-5 days after you trim. Nice work with just CFL by the way. If you can work it in there you will probably need supplemental side lighting to bring four autos to full flowering potential. Luminescence fades quickly with CFL lights the further they are away from the plant. When spread across 4 the 200w you have will kick ass in veg but flowering with just that will take longer and will not allow your plants to reach their full potential (just my opinion from using CFLS in the past). Either way you go, definitely nice work thus far.

Ok Im gonna finish ma spliff, grab me a pizza and sharpen my scissors >:) So you reccomend if the flowering branches are trying to push through that fan leave chop it off? as long as it has enough growth? Ill do it and upload pics after tea!

In my garden even if the flowering branches are pushing through the fan leaves the fans are removed. If you're hesitant just do it with all just do it to one plant, snap a before and after pic and post it. I'll let you know if what you've done is similar to what has worked very well for me and my girls. I'm subbed and will give honest feedback based on my experience with autos.

That's fucking insane for Pizza Hut! We got two medium 3 topping pizzas from pizza hut last night for $12 US, probably about 7 lbs brit sterling. I'm technically "working" right now so I may not be able to check frequently but will def give you a reply with a day of your posting the pics. Cheers!

that's proper trimming man. You'll be pleasantly suprised in a couple days when the colas start to get more light. We're not in this to grow huge fan leaves anyway

Some advice for you, if you wish to take it. Autos are better started out in their final pots. Your space is limited I guess so a 1 gal CAN work, just not best. I grew an auto in a party cup to harvest, it can be done. I just had roots growing out the top, just like you said. I would advise against trimming. Instead, try LST or the Leaf-tuck method. Once the lower branches gain a bit of height, you can tuck older fan leaves below the bud site. It will then shoot up once it gets the light. Trust me it works better. There's no need to trim.
