Autoflower & 12/12 question.. check it out.

My questions is simply this ..

- Autoflower's claim to finish faster yet they usually ( ON THE BREEDER PACK ) just state the ' flowering ' time they go through, not the veg. Where as normal strains do the same but you could always do a 12/12 on them from grow.. Wouldn't this cancel out the veg? As in my ' BURMESE KUSH ' says 7-8 week flower time, if I flower it on 12/12 from seed then will it be finished in 7-8 weeks or will it take longer?

- So if a normal strain had a ' 5-6 ' week flowering period, then 12/12 from seed would that make it 5-6weeks from seed > harvest ( IN OPTIMAL CONDITIONS ), if anyone understands.

- I'm asking this because i have one fast bud auto fem and two burmese kush fem photoperiod.. which one should i do [ 3 X 30W CFL, 2 X 20W .. 7000 LUMENS ON ONE PLANT ]

- If an autoflower takes 8-10 weeks anyways with more energy / light, less potency and probably less yield, isn't it more efficient to do a 12/12 grow which will finish in the same amount of time more or less?

- A couple more things is that if someone is after .. Yield, Potency, Harvest time..
should they go with an autoflower on do a 12/12 from seed?

I've done searching myself, but not seen this topic been brought up.

all plants need a veg time, even a normal seed on 12/12 will still veg for about 3 weeks before it starts to flower, so if it a 8 week flower it will still take 11 weeks. its the same for an auto seed it will still need some sort of veg time no matter if you have it on 12/12 or 20/4 the plant needs to get to a point in its life when it is old enough to start flowering. i would do them seeds separate, do the normal one on 12/12 from seed an the auto on 20/4 that way the auto will have more light and produce more.

^^ What that guy said. If you go 12/12 right off the bat it just signals to the (non autoflower) plant "HEY ITS LATE IN THE SEASON, WE NEED REPRODUCTION STAT!!", so it will go into "flower" earlier.

With an autoflower plant it doesn't matter the light cycles except when it comes to stress and growth potential. In general right around 18/6 light schedule for optimal autoflower performance, but going 24/7 hasn't shown much for benifit from what growers are saying, but cutting down to 12/12 will reduce yields and stunt growth.
