Im just letting mine do their own thing seeing as its my first grow. Seemed like the sensible way to go, my thinking being that with a limited life span they should be messed with as little as possible. However, having witnessed the growth rate of them im sure you could actually benefit from some cropping or training.

i wouldnt do any thing but let them go and grow, veg time is so short that it would do nothing but hurt your yield.,

Thanks man, very pleased with the way things have been going so far. And all the best with the finish to your grow, fingers crossed for no problems and plenty of herb :-)

Oh and one final thing, ive actually got them under one of these - Sunmaster dual spectrum lamp 400w - not hps, still 'HID' though. I just decided that as there isnt any distinct stages to the auto flowers life, that I wanted a combination light. Seems to be working ok.

Autos seem to do so much better inside than out. As long as they are under intense enough light. Having the ability to give them 18 to 20 hours of light is a real advantage. Im still happy with what they do outdoors as well though. Your plants look great Bigby. They seem to like that dual spectrum lamp you are using.

It's a HPS Bulb, it's just dual spectrum and has more blue spectrum in it. It's a good way to go if your ballast doesn't run both HPS and MH bulbs.

When should I adding nutes to my short riders? Theyre 11 days old and starting to show sex at about 1.5-2in tall. What kind of nutes should I use they are in FFOF soil 3 gal pots under a 400w hps.
I have NL Autos going now and they are in FFOF and at 3 weeks I am planning to start using Ferts as well but don't know which ones I should use or the amount. I bought Big Bloom Grow Big and Tiger Bloom. I think I am just going to end up going at 1/4 or 1/2 strength and see how they respond. My grow conditions aren't perfect and I only have them under a T-5 so I am not expecting monster results but as long as I get some bud I will be happy with that and the experience I will gain. If you find any information on a good nute schedule for those ferts for auto-flowers I would love to read up on it.

if your in your 3rd week then it ok to give them nutes.Any one of those that you have there will work good for ya. i would only use one not all three. only give them 1/4 strenght, for the first week and see how they do for week 5 then week 6 you can up it a bit. i wouldnt go 1/2 stenght though. there no need.because week 7 and 8 if need should only be streight water , ph adjusted to 6.3 only. This will help start clearing the nutes out for harvest at week 9. also only feed them nutes every 3 rd watering.no need to feed every watering you will just get a build up of nutes in your soil, witch you dont want. and you soil already has nutes in it, even at 3 weeks. thats the nice thing about autos in FF,OF. i use it as well. your 5t light will work just fine, keep it as low as you can to the plants with out burning them, fan blowing on them will let you to get it closer to the plants. and youll have ya some bud bro.

Thanks cutman I actually chose the FFOF because I heard that it has nutes for the first 3 weeks or so. I will figure out which of those has the most to give as far as nutes go and feed them that. I know the T5s work as I just got done following another grow and the man got some nice results with it. He was also doing an AF strain. Its not my equipment and materials I am worried about messing it up just me :)
