I am new so I may be wrong but I am in the final flush on an auto speed devil and I seen this problem with mine at first I thought nitrogen def. but then after reading a LOT more I thought for sure mag. def. so epsom salt and foliar feeding I went...my leaves seemed to burn that way...too much mag. maybe? I am pretty sure my original problem was nute burn/ph issues...plant seems to be doing well now...lots of bud points....I am growing all autos right now and I am not sure of the strains...I have the short stuff mix pack so I should get so real nice goodies!
Towards the end of a plants life cycle (ie near harvest) it is common for some of the lower leaves to turn yellow and die off.

In my experience, I find cal-mag deficiency to be very common in both autos and non-autos in mid to late flowering. All that biomass the plant is packing on during that time really drains your grow medium of nutrients. Epsom salt is a terrible treatment and has VERY limited valid uses. Pick up a bottle of Botanicare Cal-Mag. Works wonders.

You have any pics?

Most of the autos I've grown the breeders give two different times. One for indoor and one for outdoor. The outdoor time tends to be a little longer. If I remember correctly, Joint Doctor says 10-11 weeks from seed outdoors. I would definitely give it at least 10. Especially for the "tall" pheno.
Good info that. Nice one. +rep

I decided to play around with my pineapple express auto's after seeing positive results in the past and with these two so far. I've gone against convention and advice by trimming off some older fan leaves to expose the lower budsites and much more of the main cola. I know it's a no no but there are so many budsites (60 plus per plant aside from top cola) that have developed so many leaves of their own that growth was being bent and twisted in a counter productive way in my eyes and even after the trim these things are bushy to another level, can't see any stem anywhere at 5 weeks. I've heard this decreases overall yield but i wanted to test it out and see what happens. Does anyone have any experience with this strain? Just trying to identify pheno's, one is frosty and swelling already, has always been a week or two ahead of the other, has a very long top cola with minimal lower growth, two lowest nodes have developed 6 tops much like the photo on barney's website, the other has so much side branching and so many tops it looks like a fully decorated christmas tree, not frosty yet, still opening it's sugar leaves, putting up pics tomorrow
Ive done exactly the same with my pineapple express autos. I always do a bit of leaf thinning on my photoperiod grows, hadn't heard that it was supposed to reduce yield in the autos. The rate these girls are throwing out new growth though, I can't see that it'd affect the yield much at all.

Looks like ive got three phenos - one is taller (26 inches compared to 20) and has one main cola with 6 side branches/colas, with the other two being similar height, the difference in the other two being that one is more bushier and lighter in colour with 8 bud sites/branches (that have reached the same height as the main cola and appear to be bulking out at the same rate), the final one is darker in colour and the growth is not as lush and it only has the 6 side branches/colas (this could be the same pheno as the taller one, just not as vigorous).

I thought that I would give cutting on autos a try because most do not. I had heard plenty of auguments about it so!!

I was able to put 32 in a 2 x 4 ebb and looking great!

Growth was not affected and the ladies are growing fat top nugs. Today will be day 55. I run them hard in the begining with 24hrs of light and quickly introduce them to nutes. This strain reacts quite well to training.

So are the plants in the pics the cuttings? Very interested to hear more details about the process. At what point in the mother plants life cycle did you take the clones? Also, did the cuttings start to flower consistent with the age of the donor plants or did the clock "reset"?

so i have this afghan kush ryder and fruit auto they were both transplanted into new soil right before they started flowering. soil issues. the fruit continued to flower and stayed about 20 or so inches. but the other ones flowering was set back and it took to the sky. o about 3ftish. the flowering finally set in just in time. anyone got any info onP1270578.jpg what the flowering would be?

I would say it would be hard to predict given it had setbacks. It sure does look nice though. Lots of branching with lots of flowers developing.

Have to say I agree with woodsusa - she might be behaving in an unexpected way, but she sure is a beauty.

One of my super critical autos has ended up pretty tall, 3ft 4in (1.2m). Im also pretty surprised that one of my pineapple Express has ended up the same height as my Easy Ryder, they're both 2ft 4in (0.72m) - this is compared to the maximum height stated on attitude of 50cm. Not that im complaining, because im hoping this means I can double the maximum stated yield of 20g per plant too :-)

I'll try to be as detailed as possible...

Gonna cure it for a few weeks before I smoke it. I'll jar a weeks worth in each jar, so as I go each Jar should be just a bit different.

I won't have 3-6 months worth to jar up. Smoke that has been cured for at least that amount of time is the best, if done properly, IMO.

Few observations on the three Barney's Pineapple Express autos ive got on the go (copied and pasted so excuse the bold text)- ive found them to be pretty much nutrient hogs, mine are currently taking a cap-full (15ml approx) of bio-bizz grow and two cap-fulls (30ml approx) of bio-bizz bloom in 10 litres of water each watering. This is on day 35. Im even considering upping the dose. (I know this is high dose, because the super critical autos ive also got going freak out with half those amounts).
