I recieved the seeds a few days ago and am in the process of building up my growroom, at the moment its a closet grow since they plants are quite small. for the meantime while i germinate the plants i have got 2 20 watt cfls above the 5 litre pots.... anyways i should be recieving the 250 watt envirolite i ordered tomorrow and will be using it for the veg period and a bit of flowering then i will be swapping to a 250 watt HPS bulb to finish it off...anyway i will put pictures up once i get the thing sorted

Alrighty, finally got my bulb this morning and set it up with my reflector... there is a clear difference in the temperature of the light which can only mean my plants shall do a hell of a lot better under it..... they are quite stretchy at the minute cause of the crappy 20 watts i used for germination, but alas i expect some rapid growth over the next week :D here are some pictures, shows the two sharing the pot aswell:bigjoint:

with regular sativa/indica strains the plant relies solely on the amount of light given to it to change through the periods of germoination > vegetation > flowering..... typically when flowering the light time has to be set to 12 hours on and 12 off.....with auto strains the life of the plant relies on the age of it to go through the various motions of maturing, no matter what light ratio is given to it...
overall the auto strains are typically smaller and easier to grow in a smallish space, thus yield is not as high as regular strains but wheras you might wait for 4 - 5 months for a regular plant from seed to harvest, the auto strains typically take between 2 and 3 months

depends on your grow situation, are you thinking of growing?

I am at the very beginning of a grow right now. I just posted my journal today. I'm about 2 weeks in.
So an auto strain has it's genetics programmed to only live for a certain time which forces it to pump out the flowers faster?

yeah, basically.....but the plant has a 3rd type which is mixed into either indica sativa or both, its called a ruderalis plant, they work on time period which is why some breeders have mixed it with other strains...ruderalis in itself has a very low THC content so its never really been embraced but these new hybrids seem potent and a workable size :D

Sounds like an interesting strain. I've never really heard of them though. I'll probably just stick with growing my regular seeds. I was fortunate enough to get my hands on some feminized seeds :D. About 2 or 3 more weeks and I should be able to sex my plants. I am hoping that I will get a good male/female ratio. I've heard that the Ice seeds have a tendency to go female.

That confused the shit out of me when that happened. I thought I was 100% sure I only put one seed per pot. A week later I found out that one of the had 2 sprouts. I'm really interested to see how this grow comes along

ok so the plants have slowed down a bit after the mass stretching period and it looks a lot better, for my big seedling i have seen the leaf colour lightening a bit so ive started it on a small nitrogen based feed (baby bio) to perk it up, there are 2 pots out of the 4 that have 2 plants in them, these are the latest updates on how they look....
damn it they keep blocking me adding photo's.....anyone ever got a message saying " a security token was missing please contact the webmaster for assistance" ? its driving me nuts
