You can veg for as long as you light the plant wont flower untill you switch it to 12/12.
I run 18/6 if i have had no problems during veg.
For flower i do 12/12 and it depends on the strain and your conditions when its ready.

You should check what the breeder recommends. The only auto I grew they recommended 20/4 I believe. You shouldn't have to ever switch the schedule to 12/12 because its an 'auto'. It will (should) flower whenever its ready, under the same 20/4 or whatever schedule you go with.

I dislike autos. I like to be in control of my grow instead of the other way around.

Thanks guys but I was referring to light spectrum..ie how long growing under blue light and how long under red light? Sorry for not making myself clear.

these plants will flower no matter what, so it doesnt matter, when you want it to really flower hardcore, switch your lights over to less time to save electricity, even if you leave it on 24 hrs it will still flower, even if you use the wrong spectrum it will still flower... good for beginners!

I waited until bud starts to form up then switched. As for lighting I used 24/0 but I didn't know till later I was supposed to use 18/6 or 20/4

I use 2700k bulbs 24/0 from seed to harvest in FFoF.

Really no veg period. Someone said you can veg as long as you would like. 100% wrong. Autos don't flower on a light schedule. They flower by age.
