Autopot

Im looking into buying an autopot system with 4 pots and was wondering if any of you have any input on whether they are good or bad. I looked through the archives some on it but I would really like an opinion a little newer.

Yeah I looked at that thread but his pictures don't load anymore and I would like to hear something a bit more current being as there are always advances being made in growing.

I can only add that I have a friend in another country that swears by
his autopots. He insists that they work as advertized.

Take care,

JD

Thanks guys Im going to roll the dice on them I think. I had bought some FF/Ocean Forest potting soil but I will be taking that back because it seems a 50/50 mix of coco and perlite is what most recommend to use in autopots. I saw a autopot system at a local hydro store in action and fell in love with the system. They were just growing tomatoes in them but they looked great. Thanks for the replies it is hard sometimes to get anyone to reply to posts on here.

...and this site is more active than most. I am glad to help,
if all I can do is help in the research with more ideas.

Please do make an auto-pot thread. I will be there. PM if I am not.

Good luck,

JD

As soon as they are big enough to put in the autopots I will. I will also be doing a scrog on the plants as my tent isn't very big.

looking forward to seeing how you do. I've used them for a few years, so yeh I like em. I use coco w/perlite. I don't use the valves until they are a week into flower. very easy and trouble free once they are set up.

btw if you're in the US, there's a vendor on ebay that has the 4pot kit will take lower offers than the list price.;) Accessories and replacement parts can be hard to find in US though

I already bought the autopot system and from the research Ive done it seems like they get pretty good reviews. I just wish there was more info on this site about them. Hopefully when Im done with my grow I will leave information for others to use in their grow.

Well I finally got the tent set up the way I want. Still have a few tweaks but nothing major. I put a new 400watt hps/mh extra big hood with the cool tube setup its a little louder than I wanted so I bought some insulated ducting it was a lot bigger a round than I thought it would be it is 6" ducting. It did muffle it some but I would probably need to put a speed controller on it to totally quiet it down. Been looking at the variac controllers haven't heard much good about the speedster controllers. Any way I have got the plants in the autopots I'm pretty hopeful that they are going to work good I like the setup so far. I probably am not going to do the scrog setup this time. I have never grown pineapple skunk so I'm not sure what to expect as far as growth. I have more seeds of this strain so this time I am going to just grow them normal that way I can learn something about this strain first. I will try to post some pics in the next week of the setup.bongsmilie

Glad I found this post! I am in the same boat just about to start my own auto pot grow too. I use the grow lab 1.45M x 1.45M tent with a 600w ups ray of sunshine, 4" EasyzAir centrifugal fan and carbon filter. I have ordered the 4pot easypot kit with 15L pots to start and all going well I will upgrade to a 9 pot system when I can afford. I have a seperate 1M x 1.2M box for my mother and veging period. I have been using the Canna products for nutes so far but am about to make the switch to the Nutrifield as it is much better priced.

I will start a journal once my kit turns up and look forward to following this thread.
May the buds be with you mate!

I am on my second grow with the autopots and i really cant say anything bad about it. It does what it says. Really takes the hassle out of growing. No need to keep track of watering schedules: making sure the coco isn't too dry or too saturated (if thats even possible in coco). In that sense, it is hassle free. All you do is fill up the res. and it will do the rest.

On the contrary, if you do run into a situations where a flush would be necessary, removing the pots from the feeding system will make a mess unless properly prepared.

I suggest that to make sure that the valves work properly before using them or just keep a good eye on them to make sure they function as they should in the begining. I had to send one of my valves back due to product defect. It was not filling the system up with enough solution as the others did.

If anyone has any questions, ill try to answer them the best i can.

I been using the auto pots system for over 3 years and love them,

I been experimenting on which medium is the best and nutes,

At the bottem of the pot I fill it with clay pebbles about 2-3inches and then just fill it with canna coco no need to add nothing to the coco, this is the best way in my opinion, just dont re use your coco as I had bad experience with

let me know if any one need some advice,

The only thing I wonder Sometimes is why isnt every grower using autopots

Auto pots have made 100%effort go to 10% in other words they made life much easier and my plants never can be better

I subd to this thread because a good friend in the UK swears by his APs.

I will pony up the dough and try them in time.

I am thinking that a four pot array would fit my 4'X4' best.

Thanks for sharing.
