I wouldn't worry until you're past week four and haven't seen any pistols. I've got a fem Bubblelicious auto that's 26 days old now. I'm just now starting to see a few pistols on her... Not many, but a few. I will give her one last shout of veg nutes, then flush, then start flowering nutes.I'll post pictures in my journal tonight if work doesn't suck to much Dick.

@CHICO23 .... you've already heard my advice. It's too late. Start over. Hate to put it so bluntly, but that's all I got man. I think a combination of all the stress (nute burn, high temps, low light, keeping them in solo cups so long, transplanting, etc) damaged these babies beyond repair. It actually brings a tear to my eye to see them in that condition. I would let them go peacefully instead of living so crippled. Maybe put them in the windowsill just for shits & giggles to see what you end up with - maybe a couple of bowls or a small blunt. You said your temperatures aren't that high, but anything (in my opinion) over 80 degrees is a no-no. I bet you would have much better luck if you were able to keep your temps in the high 60's or low 70's. My room would STAY at 68-71 degrees if I had my way. Right now it's about 108 degrees in my area, so my air conditioner in the house can't really keep up, but when it does, my closet stays 73 or maximum 75. That's another thing to think about - drastic temperature change is another form of stress for your girls. I try to keep the fluctuation +-5 degrees. Ventilation plays a big factor in your success. Not only for moderating heat, but also for fresh air exchange. I would like to see how your area is setup. I would definitely start a few new plants just to have something going for when you're depressed at the yeild you'll get off those girls.

yup looks like a couple of the first nodes of leaves were cut off too that probably didn't help, either cut or burnt. If they were cut that would occur as well.

@superjoint - if you swing by my journal, you'll see what I ran into. My Short Ryders have gotten MUCH larger than I initially anticipated. I'm not complaining, it just kind of screwed up my plans a little bit. The Bubblelicious had to be moved outside for now until I can come up with a more permanent solution. She was struggling to get light since the Short Ryders were older and taller, so she got pretty stretchy. It was also affecting my Short Ryders since everything had to be so bunched up in there. I hated to do it, but I think she has a fair shot at living thru harvest outside. The main thing I'm concerned about (besides my neighbors spottting/smelling her) is all this crazy heat we're having - I'm in the Mid-West USA and it's been 100+ for the last week or so & not letting up until after this weekend. I did read where the Ruderallis, or autoflower, is great for growing in harsh climates, so hopeully that will help her a little. I can't do much about it, so all I can do is pay attention to her and do what I can to keep her alive.

Congrats on your plant - I'm happy to hear she's showing pistils now! How many days was it? I think my first ones were around 20 days or so on the Short Ryders, and the Bubblelicious was somewhere between 23-25 days. Can I see some pictures of your girls?

great thread, with some good info.since i started growing,10 months ago,i have grown auto`s.they fit nicely in my tent.only 1.6h x 0.9 x0.9.02102011018.jpg02102011020.jpg12102011036.jpg12102011036.jpg19112011072.jpg02112011059.jpg25102011053.jpghere are some pics of my first grow, which was auto skunkberry from just feminized.they were under 250w hps 18/6 hrs.i had a cal/mag problem with this grow, and as i`m using coco,i didnt know that i had 2 supplement it with cal/mag as the coco retains some of these nutes.apart from this everything went well.i grew 2 plants, and got 3oz and 2.5oz of dried weed, which was some of the best weed av had 4 years.they took about 11 weeks 2 finish.ive since had a NL auto that finished in 9 weeks.these were all given bloom nutes from when i saw the female pistils, bout 3 weeks into grow.i only got an ounce off the NL tho, shudav got twice as much.could this have been coz i gave it bloom nutes 2 soon? thanx for the info everyone,i love learning bout growing the beautiful weed.

Can I leave my lights on 24/0 for the entirety of my plants life? Also, do I have to switch from 6500K to 2700K once flowering hits?

@knowmad. You CAN do whatever you want. If it were me though, I would give your plants some sort of lights out period. As hard as we try, we very rarely beat mother nature at her own game. So why not try to replicate her as closely as possible?

If your boss said "I need more production out of you Knowmad! You're going to start pulling 24 hour shifts from now on!" What do you think would happen (aside from you telling him to FUCK OFF & getting fired)? If you tried it, you might be able to pull it off for what, 2 days? Then what would you want to do? REST?!?! Why are plants any different? We're all living creatures. My advice would be to give her 18/6, but if you just HAVE to have longer light schedule, try 20/4 or 22/2. I know I've seen people's grows that turn out just fine this way... it just doesn't seem right to me that we can expect plants to go non-stop & still have the same quality of output/production as they would given a decent break every evening.

As far as your lighting question, YES, you can leave it under the 6500k bulbs as long as you want. When you think about CFL's though, try to compare them to HID lighting. It is pretty well accepted that MH (metal halide) bulbs are used during Veg... These are most similar to your 6500k "bright white" colored bulbs. Most HID growers switch to HPS (high pressure sodium) bulbs when it's time to flower... these are most like your 2700k-3000k "red" colored bulbs. On the other hand though, most HID growers will agree that if they had to choose 1 bulb over the other, they would grow all the way through with their HPS bulb. The reasoning is, the MH will do wonders for veg, and will be "ok", at best, during flower. HPS will do "ok" during veg, but will rock the fuck out of our plants when we flower. So - if you have to make a sacrifice, most would rather do it during the veg cycle - as opposed to using sub-par lighting during the flowering stage.

If I was using CFL's, I would not want to make any sacrifices when it came to appropriate spectrum. I would want 6500K during veg, and then switch to 2700k during flower. It's your call though. They're your plants. Whatever you decide, just make sure you do your research and know how to get the most out of what you're using. Good luck & keep it green buddy. How bout some pictures?

@superjoint. Glad things are going well. Can't wait to see how your girls end up. Going to put some pictures in this post of my girls from earlier today. I guess I'm happy with them. We'll just have to see how things go. I am happy that I seem to have these Fox Farm nutrients "dialed in" with very few issues at all. NO nute burn. NO defficiencies. NO problems at all. I was a little disappointed that the plants got a little stretchy, but I'm not overly concerned with looks. Hell, I'm going to break my bud up and smoke it - not take pictures to jerk off to (well maybe I'll still do that, but you get the point, lol). Anyways, let me know what you think. I would love to see some more pictures of your girls. PM me sometime.

weird stalk.jpg<<--- I know this is off-topic, but look at this weirdo stalk! I think she may have herpes. Going by the comments from where I posted this earlier, most said it was just where roots tried to come out and then got pruned by the light and oxygen. Still - it's definitely odd looking. About 1-2 weeks ago, she also started kind of "peeling". It was weird - almost like a snake shedding its' skin. Under that bottom branch on the right, you can still see where part of the paper looking stuff is trying to come off. My guess is it has something to do with the stalk getting 2-4x bigger in about 4 days, but who the hell knows?

looks good so far,yea mine have that same shedding thing going on too, never seen that before,my stalks also got alot bigger in a couple of days, the other is roots for sure,my tomatoes in the garden do the same thing when I add myco to them, some actually live above soil in the shady areas going back into the soil,Fox farm is pretty good, thats what I used in soil when I first started,I still use the open sesame on phenos,Ive had pre flowers in 5 days under my leds with that shit with some blue widow plants, but I had the tastiest buds with Botanicare pure blend pro in soil, are you using their Big Bloom at all?Bat guano really sweetens up shit nicely

mdeva-cover up that soil,it will eliminate the algae, and the gnats have nothing to eat, problem solved, alot cheaper and easier than neem, cheapest and easiest way is to use some foil and make some covers, pull em off when you water,I always cover my media, and dont have any problems with gnats, they eat algae,so if its not there, they wont be either,I also used marble rocks, but found foil is much easier to deal with,I still hang a yellow sticky just in case

shit be careful bringing that bubble plant back in,I set some clones outside for two days only during the daylight, just to experiment, brought an army of spider mites back in ,those are some motherfuckers you dont want to deal with
