Autos: when to switch from MH to HPS?

Hey all. First grow, four autos, 32 days from sprout. Three Easyryders are showing clear and developing pistils. I can't detect any obvious pistils on the fourth plant, a 60-Day Wonder, but I can't spot any male signals either. It looks exactly like the others sans white hairs. So far I've been using a 400W MH. When should I switch to the 400 HPS?

Combining both spectrums has been shown in test studies to provide a more complete spectrum and happier "praying" plants. Also the MH's blue spectrum has been shown to provide UVB radiation which actually increases resin production and THC %. Check it out I think Ed Rosenthal writes about these findings. Blaze1

obviously the more light the better and duelspectrums are better then single "of course" but if i can only have the 1 light going then i would of switched at day 14 with autos at the latest 21 days in.

Interesting Resinant. I will look into that b/c I'm already planning to buy a 600 sometime in the fall.In the meantime, though, I've only got the one light. The MH is actually one of those conversion bulbs. I thought I was supposed to wait until bud began to show before switching with autos. Sounds like I've waited too long? I just started lights-off now. Any reason I shouldn't switch to HPS for tomorrow's light's-on?
