so I'm growing outdoors this year and here's what i've got so far:

natural dug up soil mixed with:
compost dirt
ashes
miracle grow (should I or Should I not?)
crushed up eggshells & banana peels
at the bottom of the hole a couple of fish (chopped up to quicken decomposition)

any suggestions? other Ideas
all organic of course:mrgreen:
p.s. I haven't figured out how much of everything to put in, how big should the holes be if I want these plants to get as big as possible?

I'm on well water that's rather high in mineral content (high buffering capacity and pH included).

People are making declarative statements that Miracle Gro will burn your plants, yet fdd2blk uses it with nary a problem, as does Flowergurl, and so far my hatchlings are doing just fine with it. So, I think that, with regards to Miracle Gro, your mileage may vary. I also think that if you get the fortified stuff (the stuff with the fertilizers already in it) you may increase your chances of burning. But, it really doesn't make sense to me that you can use this stuff with your most expensive roses, gardenias, bulbs, and vegetables, yet experience no burning with those plants, yet it burns weed..? Makes no sense.
