Awkward grow due to LED? Opinions?

I've seen this before in other posts, and it finally happened to me on Black Lime Reserve. The plant stretches weirdly, then continued to stretch after bud formation should have been well under way. its almost developing in reverse, where the bottom nugs are way bigger and the top comes to a point like a sword. I have to assume this is because this particular strain maybe does not like artificial light? has anyone seen this happen to any other strain under hps?

You sure you have no light leaks during your dark period? Or just timer isn't working right.

That was my initial thought, but thinking back there shouldn't be any light leak. the thing is, i got 6 clones at once, 2 super skunk, 2 black lime, 2 gorilla glue. and it only happened to the 2 black limes, let alone the 5 other strains i have going.
