Pests you might encounter will be :

aphids
slugs
caterpillars
POSSIBLY mites

If you are outdoors on the island and not in your yard I might be more concerned about rabbits and deer.

I would say it's unlikely here.

When they bud I'd be worried about mould more than budworm. When I say worried about mould, be VERY worried about mould... even with daily monitoring and H2O2 treatments I lost 25% of my crop to mould. With our RH here in the autumn it's just something we have to deal with.

During veg you should worry about SLUGS... oh and slugs... and of course deer and rabbits.

Slugs, I've been told that copper tape works well.

Deer, human hair and urine... empty your gfs harbrush and lay it around your plots. Every time you go out to the plots I suggest you piss around the perimeter, literally mark your territory. Deer are sensitive to and will avoid scents of predators (you are a predator).

I think butterflies and moths are every where ? Bugs are bugs no matter where you are you fight them all the same. Slugs = snail bait . Everything else can be fought organically with, insecticidal soaps or fungi sprays to home made pepper sprays , Neem or Azamax for leaf eating bugs and spinosad and/or BT for caterpillars. sorry, can't help ya with suggestions on the cute little vermins or deer. lol :leaf:Mojo to your grow.:leaf: Beautiful place to live.
