ok so i know that ive been quiet around here for a bit...and with good reason ive been putting th hrs into my grow to auto water/feed, catch, drain and evacuate in a coco grow. ill throw a couple pics up, but mainly to show the leaves. its amazing what happens over 6 days when u dont look at it ed

so heres my dilemma, i had problems getting off the ground after my last grow and am going full force now but 1 1/2 months late, i wanted to turn the lights back tonight to 12 12 to start bloom but i realize that i have some monster fan leaves. i dont want to risk turning any potential fems male with any undue stress but also want to get the best yield i can from this effort since im so behind( having to buy again sucks ass....i hate flattened seeds or seeds in general unless they carry a brand name)

please help.

so a couple fan leaves lol
you have nothing to worry about putting them into 12.12. give them a bit a N that will produce females

ok i guess i shoud have clarified a bit more, id like to chop off all the fan leaves that have leaves 3 in and longer, but i know doing this will stunt the growth of the plant a bit and if i go straight to bud from doing that i increase my chances of potential males due to recent stress.

would i be loosing that much on the final product if i dont cut the leaves until later in bud, or will leaving them draw too much from the flower production and greatly reduce the final yield. i havr always trimmed pre flower but ive also always done less number plants with more veg

or should i cut the leaves and wait 3-5 days then transition?

these were all from seed sadly, next go round will be all clones so no worries

leave them on and switch to 15 and 9 when it looks like there starting to sex trim your leaves and go 12/12

why 15 9 ive never heard or read that im not looking for a breakthrough technology just some old school knowledge..perhaps frome someone that has found themselves selfs guessing or shortchanged on what they started out to do. like i said and as my tags says im a medical user with backwards politicians and im trying to catch myself up on my meds( been buying schwagggg i hates!!!... rather smoke resin (honestly i like it)(not the schwagg but the res, or T as they call it these days...n im only 28 ha. but back to buis. why prolong the bud..im not greedy, i just dont want to pay for 6 gms of flat white seeds per O!!!

cutting of large fans is not smart.. The plant needs them to process sugars and photosynthesis process. just tuck them down and outta the way so they don't block bud sites, and flip to 12 12 then you'll have to push down the big fans daily but it will be well worth it.

unless theres another reason you want to cut them off????

The 15/9 will get them to start to produce preflowers without putting them into total flowering state. that way you can sex them for sure and not shock them when you trim your larger leaves

i would recomend never cutting off an entire fan leaf as these are the solar panels that catch and store electricity for your plant.. if u must trim the tips but not the whole leaf

I would have to disagree. Typical for SOG you want to trim those large kush leaves, so more light can reaches the bottom of the plants.Hence a bigger yeild and more light to the shaded spots. end of week 4.trim all fan leaves. When you prune it also brings more air flow to the plants.. That is why you trim the smaller weaker branches off from the bottom of the plant a week before flowering..But in a sog there is only a week so you dont prune those.. but when you have tables packed full its good to trim some or most of the large leaves..

actually i have to disagreee wit you.. if your doin a sog you lollipop the plant as to remove bottom third to half the growth below the canopy...

I've decided that since I have been so fucked on this grow that I'm going to and gave gone 12/12 and I'm gonna leave the fans, I fimmed before leaving and they have recovered from that. And I'll just tie and bend to get the light there! Now I need to get my cloner up n going bc I'm not dealing w these probs ever again
