back of closet setup. Grow tent? Mylar sheeting alone?

I am new to growing and am trying to think of the best way to go about it. I have about 24inLx20inWx50H space in the back of my closet. Now i was thinking of buying a cheap cabinet on craigs or something and converting that, but I am torn between doing something like that or just going at it the simple way of just sheeting up the area with panda plastic or something to keep the light out and then ill have more open space to work with. Any ideas would help immensely. Thanks.

Also i will be growing a short height strain so not looking for a huge amount of space, just for 2-3 plants.

I am currently looking for a tent because i am suspicious of the scent that these little babies will release during budding... and in a tent i think it would be much easier to set up a cheapo carbon filter to neutralize the scent....

I have been working with the mylar foam sheeting quite a bit and turns out that it traps more heat than I expected if the mylar is on the inside. So I have been using flat white paint for reflectivity instead and it really helps decrease the wattage needed for ventiliation.

A great box for closet growing is the big square garbage can ~$15 at Walmart. You can use a razor to cut a door in the side and then paint the inside flat white. Would fit in the space you mentioned. I think the inside measurement is 18.5"w X 17"d X 40"h

yeah i love the idea of those tents. everything i want, concealment, easy to use, mylar already built in. Its just the fact of the price. UNWANTED, what kind of prices have u been finding for the tent of your choice? All the ones ive found are over 100 bucks.

The trash can idea isnt bad either. also walmart sells a like plastic cabinet that is a little taller and not too bad and that is like 39 bucks.

Whats a good place to get mylar btw?

Just thought of a pretty good idea for a cheap grow "tent". I see that u can buy rubbermaid garmet closets at walmart for like 21 bucks and i would assume that u could just put some mylar or some panda plastic on the inside and find a reasonable way to hold up some CFLs(ill be trying to use cfls for my grow) and that could be a pretty easy sey-up.

ANY IDEAS ON THAT?

i been seeing some cheepies for like 75-85... the real small ones... but the others are like you say 100 +

Woon keep in mind that cab will not be 100% light proof. once build those seams for the doors etc are light holes.

Mylar and duct tape is all you need.
