Bad genetics or bad grower?

I'm pulling my hair out over this leaf curling issue. I'm ready to give up on fixing it and just let them grow on out, but thought I would ask here again now that they are a little older. I've tested the PH of the water used for the last two waterings and it's right in the middle of the scale for a soil grow, but I haven't been able to test runoff. I've played with different distances from the lights and adjusted the watering frequency. I have also flushed the soil of two of them and it made no difference. I have eight of this unknown strain going and they all have the same curled leaf tips, and six of them have a leaf deformity of some sort. None of the other strain I am growing have this problem. All of the plants are treated the same way and share the same growing space.

This plant was the fifth out of eight to sprout. It's 14 days old. Don't pay any attention to the fan leaf that my cat took a few bites of, but you can also see the big deformed fan where the center blade split in two. Any ideas?

Thanks for looking

Early stages of root binding, over watering and over feeding. Transplant and cut back on the water and food.
Also kill feline, I hate cats. Dogs Rule.

they look ok asides from over watering a lil bit, but it aint bad....looks like you also should cut back on the nitrogen, whne the leaves get real dark and curl like that its a good sign

Thanks guys.

I hadn't considered the possibility of root binding... damn, really? It's a two week old plant in a one gallon pot. I hope that's not the problem because I don't have room in my grow for bigger pots unless I dump some plants. I might pull the most problematic of the group and slap it in a two gallon pot just to get a look at the root ball.

I water them by the weight of the pot, which is every other day at this point. They take about 16oz on average before I see a few drops of runoff. They might be over fed at this point though, because a few of the other strain I'm growing were showing signs of being hungry so I fed them all a 1/3 strength shot of 8-14-9 a couple of days ago. They were also watered(plain water) about an hour before the photos were taken.

I will back off of the water and food for this strain though, and check into the possible root bound issue. Thanks for the suggestions.

Edit: I just checked on the dates that they sprouted. This plant is actually 16 days old, not 14 like I posted earlier.

Check your Ph. Try replanting n a bigger pot or 5 gal bucket with more perlite use the big chunks not the small mirclegro junk. At least your leaves are green dont give up dude.

Well, damn... I guess I'll have a look a those rootballs.

How do other people manage to finish plants in one gallon pots? I wanted to grow little plants. These things have been under 12/12 lighting for four days now, and like I said, they are only a couple of weeks old... I'm confused. My Sea Of Green has gone horribly wrong... :-?
