Bad Germ with Jilly Bean

I ordered 3 Jilly Bean from Attitude with the TGA promo the other month. 1 looked normal and the other 2 were very small and pale colored. I didn't think much of it until I germed them and the 2 pale ones only cracked a foot out and stopped growing while the healthy looking one took off great. Since I ordered from Attitude I'm sure I can't do anything about the germ issue, but I'm curious if those smaller pale seeds are normal for Jilly Bean or if I just got a bad batch. I've read a lot about some strains just having off-looking seeds and I've seen nothing, but positive reviews for subcool's gear.

My Jillybean seeds looked normal. I bought a single 10 pack and am still running my favorite cutting from her. Good luck man!

Cool thanks. I am so excited about this strain I can't just go with this one so I do plan on ordering a pack. Should've done that in the first place LOL.

This is interesting. My last order from attitude was 9/08/11. I ordered a 5 pack or jacks cleaner 2, a 5 pack of vortex, and a 5 pack of jillybean. Both the Jacks Cleaner and the Jillybean had perfect germ rates. Seeds looked rather viable and dank. The vortex was a bummer for me. Typically i have great rates with sub's gear. I have ran vortex twice before and have had great germination rates. This time I had 1 out of 5 germ in rapid rooters. I was bummed, but i guess thats the way it goes.

Best of luck to you, hope you find some dank keepers in what you got. I am sure you will find something that you will love.

had a problem last year with an order from attitude (jillybean) same thing poor germ rate. e-mailed sub and he was stand up about it (very much appeciated, and had no further problems with replacements), but I wondered at the time if it was from x-ray done on in coming mail (radiation effecting seeds).

This has happened to me with the JTRs, a few jilly beans and others from attitude. With the pale ones that crack with only a root tip out, I gently(or forcibly) open them up and let it soak in new paper towel alittle longer. Then they should take off the next day. 1 out of 8 times I've had to do this ended badly.

Yeah, if my seeds don't crack within 5 days, I typically just put a dab of rooting hormone on the seeds and 80% of the time it will germinate. Problem being is that i'm not looking for a weak plant that needs 'medical intervention' at any phase. Darwinism if you will. I've had some TGA seeds that drop a 1inch tail in 24 hours. There are exceptions to where the runt plant can be the best in the batch though.

Thanks for the replies. The 2 Chernobyl and 2 Dairy Queen (freebies) looked dark and normal sized and all 4 of those took off no problem as well. Got enough to play with for now :)

This is my breed and what seeds should look like been getting seeds for years and none looked as good as my breed, so when you get seeds pale green white are immature and you could have grow issues and germ issues.View attachment 1817018notice fat dark, marbled(hybrid) indica leaning, smooth is sativa leaning, tiny is wild genitics.
