bag drying and getting a musty smell

Long story short 1 of my plants was ready to harvest while the others were not (different strains) So I harvested it and am doing my first bag dry since I can not hang dry it atm. Well its been about a week now and the buds still aren't dry and they are getting a bit of a musty smell when I burp the bag. I am starting to think it may be mold but there is no signs on the bud. Is this normal for a bag dry? I burp twice a day for about a minute or so in the morning and at night. Did I do something wrong with the bag dry? We have had some bad weather the last week so its been cooler than normal and I think that's why its not dry yet. Do you guys think it might be mold?

I would never bag dry my bud , finishing it in a paper bag is one thing but weed should dry between 5-7 days on average unless drying a larger plant . If your smelling mildew and musty smells it can only mean one thing . Get this dried and aired out before it does grow mold . You do not want dank to be like a dank old stale smelling basement lol , we want dank to smell like its genetics allow .

Best of luck and do read up on the stickies for proper drying and curing procedures but remember the variables and do what you have to in order to dry it properly .

I think you confused curing with drying. They are two very different things!
Your buds are not going to dry right and by the time they do start to dry im sure mold will have set in nicely.

Get them out of the plastic bag!
You can like Potsnob said put them in a paper bag, Or on a screen.
Window screen works well so do aquarium top screens if you have them.
Never try and dry in a sealed container even if you burp it, its just not going to work.
It will most likely mold and Mold is NOT safe to smoke!

It is also worth noting improper drying will make the weed taste like shit and be harsh to smoke as well.

You want about 7 days drying in a cool (not cold) place with a small amount of air movement.
You want them hung, or placed on something that will not allow moisture to build up between it and the buds screens work great.
After buds are completely dry, meaning the stem will snap not bend if bent over.

You can then place them in a sealed container and burp it. This is CURING not drying!

Hope that helps a bit.
