Bagseed in dixie cups question

I've got about 30 bag seeds i want to grow. Would they be able to grow in dixie cups to they are large enough to be sexed. I dont want to just start a few seeds and find out later that they are all guys but i dont have enough room to use bigger containers.

Yes beer cups will work best. grow them and sex them by pre-flowers. Saves alot of planting and dirt/labor. So yes you can.

Dixie cups? Grown long enough to determine sex? Not a chance!

If anyone has a plant that has grown in a dixie cup to be able to determine male/female, please post it here.

I asked my husband if I could grow in dixie cups, and he looked at the pictures and said "No you can stick to big plants"

haha.

They are cute. Much like having a miniature dog vs. a big one.

I wish you the best of luck in your growing endeavor! Keep us posted on how it goes.

hahahahah well your about to be blowen away when you see this https://www.rollitup.org/cfl-growing/265034-party-cup-cfl-grow.html
now tell me you cant grow in a party cup lol :bigjoint:
Great picture. It's not a dixie cup, though. That cup is about three times more volume than a dixie cup.

I will admit however, that I haven't SEEN a dixie cup in about 20 years but they were smaller...much smaller.

Let's see a plant in DIXIE CUPS....not beer cups, not wine glasses, etc.

I wouldn't suggest a dixie cup unless you are just rooting clones
or germinating seeds. (though the paper towel method is best 4 me)

Also, you said you didn't have much room..
so, 30 seeds will probably consume your space
by the time they are old enough to be sexed.

I suggest growing about 10-15
separate males, veg females until desired, then take the
healthiest plant and take up cloning. lol

probably would save you time?

Thanks for the pictures.

Maybe there was a miscommunication. I didn't see any sexing in the picture.

In any event, I called a friend to see it he's ever seen a plant grow in a dixie cup to see sexing. He said he had not but it could be possible. The amount of time and effort, though, makes it impractical. "If it's done, it's done as a novelty, not because you are looing to support a habit."

I looked through some old text books and didn't see anything mention that small of a growing area. I guess if someone is so inclined to do something like this then it might be possible...but, good God...it's not realistic.

I see your challenge, though. :-)

In the mean time, thanks DoeEyed! I still learn every day.

I agree with you there. It's doable - but not, perhaps, recommended.

That shot glass grow, though - now that was somthing you had to see to believe! lol
