Bagseed Sativa @ 12 weeks. Harvest?

What's up everyone? I've been flowering this bagseed sativa for 12 weeks today and I'm trying to decide when to chop it down. I still think it has a little longer, I'm just not sure how long. It's been flowering under an 8 bulb t-5 fluoro, but started with a 600 watt HPS...it's a long story... ahaha Anyways, thanks for any help ahead of time. The bottom nugs are developing faster than the colas and are more dense, as of now. Thanks guys.

I am able to check the trichs, I have a 420 scope. 60-100x. It's very hard to judge. Most of the trichs are still clear, especially on the colas. I'd say it has a week or two left, also. It's still very "airy," I guess I rather harvest it a little late than too early. It's just the first mostly pure sativa that I've grown, so it's hard to tell. Do you have any clue on the strain? or what it resembles? Thanks Snick

There are very few trichs that are folding over/fully developed if that makes sense. Most are still extremely small and haven't "mushroomed" out.

I'll tell ya this much. Sativa dom. strains... the trichs on them never turn amber. They'll turn cloudy and dark.. and its at that point you should harvest.

Good luck.

Thanks man, yeah, I'm going to check it out again. How long would you suggest I wait to chop her? I appreciate the wisdom, guys.

Do you guys have any clue as to what strain this plant resembles? It's been hard for me to identify since there are so many damn strains out there.

theres no way of telling. There is an infinite amount possibilties the best you could do is pinpoint the likely geographical location and that assumes it is a landrace.

I agree with ganjaluvr I would go ahead and harvest her. I have grown out some sativa dom bagseeds but I never made it past 11 weeks it just wasn't worth my time and appeared it would never really finish as the top wanted to keep growing. For the record that is a great looking plant, very healthy and it's rare to see someone put in that much work and grow a problem free plant that long. +rep you earned again that plant is beautiful.

(oh yeah, did you cut off the larger fan leaves or something? It kinda looks like it. If you did you might want to reconsider that next time might be part of your problem)

Appreciate the love, man...yeah, it's been a crazy adventure...haha I had to move spots a few times...it's been outside, there are a lot of factors as to why it hasn't been growing the best, but man did I try. I think, since it was one my earlier grows...I must've clipped the fans...which man did I fuck up. ahaha I don't remember doing it, but by the looks of it...I must've. whoops! Well, thanks again guys..can't wait to flower the next batch. see ya! and I think I'm going to give her 48 hours of darkness and see what's up

That's what I've heard from someone else, too. It's weird, though..there are a lot of milky trichs and the calyxes are starting to swell.

I wouldn't go longer than that, possibly before. I just harvested a straight sativa, kept waiting for amber trichs but they stayed cloudy. Some of the good folks here told me some sativas do not turn amber, so I harvested around the end of week 11. I dunno, it just LOOKED ready. Hairs receded/calyxs swollen, little if any white hair growth... I also noticed a distinct change in the smell of the buds within a day or so before harvest. It just smelled very ripe, like if it sat any longer it would be the equivalent of fruit starting to rot on a tree

I would harvest, but it's just not lookin' quite ripe to me, yet. The pistils are still quite white, however, the trichs haven't mushroomed yet, either. It's got a nice, pungent smell, I'm just going to flush it for another week and see how things are looking. I haven't really noticed any yellowing of the leaves, either. Most pure sativa can be harvested anywhere from 14-20 weeks, I've heard. I guess we'll see how it turns out. Also, the calyxes haven't started to swell all that much. imho I think I have a week or more left. Like i said, I guess I'll find out. ahaha I guess the worst thing that could happen is a little loss in potency? hmmm..I rather harvest too late than too early. Thanks though, man! appreciate the feedback

They look ok, its smokeable so you win! How does it smell? Definitely get some seeds because you will be rewarded much more than this.
