Ballast Caught On Fire

To make a short story short, last week one of my 1000watt took a shit on me so I needed a temp one. My friendhad a few laying around so I bought one for a bill. Today when the lights went on I went in to do my daily check up and I noticed a funny sound by the ballast. Shit caught on fire. I'm not sure what brand it is but stay away from these green ballast

Thanks, everything is good now. Rushed to the hydro store and got a new one

Looks like a plug problem. I'm guessing the plug wasn't in the socket tightly (creating an arc) or it was damaged (like stepped on and crushed). I guess we'll never know.....

Now that I think of it, a second benefit of co2 enrichment would be fire suppression, no?

Yeah a ballast is just a transformer and a starter. Neither are really prone to fires but you never know.
