ballast ???

what is the difference between a digital ballast and an old regular one??

Not too sure about the other quirks that a digi offers, but I do know that they run a lot cooler than a magnetic ballast. I can vouch for the imense heat produced by magnetic ballast, but it's not unmanageable.

wat about energy? are digitals more efficient??

Digitals are supposed to be more energy efficient but from what I read are not as rugged and lasting as the magnetic ones. Maybe it'll work itself out as we test them in the field.

They are more energy efficient, put out more light, and you can use both MH and HPS on the same ballast instead of having to have two different ballasts.

Sorry bro, but that's out of my realm of knowledge. I run a magnetic just cuz it was what came with my light. I think the digis are more efficient, but like i said idk for sure since i've never used one. Someone here should know for sure, and they're usually willing to clear things up.
