Electronic is far better. However it also costs a lot more.

Electron ballasts are far more energy efficient, producing 10-30% more lumens than their magnetic counterparts of the same wattage. They also produce less ballast heat than magnetic ballasts, which is almost always a good thing.

The other benefit is that most can run both High Pressure Sodium (HPS) and Metal Halide (MH) bulbs. Some magnetic ballasts can do this also, though a switch is necessary (one more part to break) and the warm-up times on the bulb are slightly longer.

Big Lumetak fan. No fan and very little heat..vs others...Rarely hear about issues. Good size company if issues come up. Oh, longest warrenty at 5 yrs. One of the issues with digital was an RF signal but Lumetak has been said to fix that issue..No brainer really imo and shop around there really isn't much price difference if you look and shop.
